Tokyo Women Entrepreneur Award: Applications Now Open

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has launched the application process for the 6th Tokyo Women Entrepreneur Award. This annual event, established in 2020, aims to amplify the momentum for women’s empowerment in the business sector. The Tokyo Women Entrepreneur Award recognizes female entrepreneurs who contribute to solving societal challenges in Tokyo while striving for significant business expansion. This initiative highlights the essential role of women in enhancing industrial vitality within the capital city of Japan.

What is the Tokyo Women Entrepreneur Award?

The award system celebrates and supports women leaders who are determined to excel in their fields and take on the challenges of improving Tokyo's social issues. By acknowledging women entrepreneurs with outstanding records from various sectors and growth stages, the award aims to promote women’s activities in corporate management and thereby energize Tokyo's industries.

Application Details

Female entrepreneurs will be evaluated comprehensively based on their business practices and personal capabilities for the following categories, with one winner selected from each:

• - Continuing Growth Category: Candidates who have achieved continuous revenue or profit increases for at least three years since assuming their representative position.
• - Sustainable Management Category: Candidates who have been engaged in management for over ten years since they took on their representative role.

Evaluation Process

The selection process consists of a document review followed by interviews conducted by external judges.

Application Period and Method

The application window will be open from October 31, 2025, until December 1, 2025, at 12 PM. Interested candidates can apply via the official website.

Awards Ceremony

The award ceremony will take place during a Tokyo government event promoting women’s empowerment, expected around January 2026.
