KJazz Tracks Returns to Union Station



Los Angeles is set to come alive with music as Metro Art collaborates with KJazz 88.1 FM to bring back the KJazz Tracks concert at Union Station on April 5, 2025. This event marks the kickoff of Jazz Appreciation Month, celebrating the vibrant culture and artistry of jazz with a free, public concert held in the station's historic Ticket Concourse from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

The concert will feature the headlining act, Kiefer Trio, along with performances from talented supporting artists Salami Rose Joe Louis and David Binney Action Trio. This exciting lineup promises a night filled with refreshing tunes and cultural connection, showcasing the rich diversity of jazz music.

Heidi Zeller, Senior Manager of Cultural Planning with Metro Art, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, "Metro Art is thrilled to bring KJazz Tracks back for an unforgettable evening of live jazz in one of LA's most iconic spaces. We aim to celebrate the vibrancy and diversity of jazz with our community."

The Kiefer Trio, led by the dynamic musician Kiefer, is particularly eager to perform, sharing, "We can't wait to bring our music to Union Station and share this special night with the city. If you're interested in attending this free concert, you can register to secure your spot. Furthermore, the first 40 attendees who show their @tapgreaterlosangeles cards at the Metro Art information table will earn a free Metro Art book entitled Los Angeles Through the Eyes of Artists, along with an exclusive Union Station swag bag!

Getting to the event is easy: Union Station is accessible via multiple transportation options, including Metro Rail and municipal bus lines. Visitors can plan their trip using the Transit app or the trip planner available on metro.net. Parking is available at Union Station East or West garages, starting at just $8.

Artist Profiles


The headliner Kiefer is known for his captivating live performances. His first official live album, Something For Real, captures the dynamic interaction between him and his trio during a secret Los Angeles concert in 2023. With recognized collaborations and awards, Kiefer continues to make waves in the jazz scene.

Salami Rose Joe Louis is a genre-traveling artist with a unique sound, producing music on her beloved Roland MV8800. Signed to Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label, she has garnered critically acclaimed responses to her work, including her concept album Zdenka 2080. Recently, she released her solo album Akousmatikous, blending emotional storytelling with innovative sonic experiences.

On the other hand, the David Binney Action Trio redefines performance with exceptional compositional talent, particularly from saxophonist David Binney. His project features Louis Cole on drums and Pera Krstajic on bass, promising an adventurous and original jazz experience.
