The Stories to Be Told

The featured performances in the omnibus include:

Breach of Promise - Written by Damon Runyon

Damon Runyon, an acclaimed American writer known for his witty storytelling, produces a tale filled with both humor and suspense. Set against the backdrop of a private detective's murky ethics, 'Breach of Promise' follows Harry, a detective forced to retrieve a love letter from an old flame for a wealthy client, Tuesday. Harry's resolve to uphold promises, despite the shady nature of his work, leads him into unexpected circumstances.

The Inspector - Written by Nikolai Gogol

Nikolai Gogol, a literary mastermind from Ukraine, shines a light on societal follies in 'The Inspector.' When a rumor circulates about an inspector arriving in a small town to investigate corruption, chaos ensues. The townsfolk mistake a young traveler for the inspector and scramble to cover up their wrongdoings, leading to a comedic and scandalous unraveling of events. Gogol's sharp satire continues to provoke thought and laughter as it critiques authority and social norms.

A Happy Ending - Written by Anton Chekhov

Anton Chekhov, a celebrated Russian playwright, has left an indelible mark on literature and theater. 'A Happy Ending' revolves around a 52-year-old conductor's desperate quest for a wife, leading him to engage a matchmaker. Through a comical exchange of preferences and expectations, Chekhov masterfully explores themes of love and human connection with his signature wit.
