Enveniam Partners with LIS Technologies to Advance Laser Uranium Enrichment Technology

Enveniam and LIS Technologies Forge a Historic Partnership

In a significant move for the nuclear industry, Enveniam has recently entered into a collaboration with LIS Technologies Inc. (LIST), making advancements in laser-based uranium enrichment technology. This partnership not only emphasizes their commitment to innovation but also aims to strengthen America's position in the nuclear energy sector.

Agreement Overview

On November 10, 2025, Enveniam announced it had signed an agreement to act as the Lead Project Integrator for the design, development, and construction of LIST’s cutting-edge laser-based uranium enrichment facility located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This facility is set to utilize advanced laser technology that has been patented and developed exclusively in the USA.

LIS Technologies, lauded for its proprietary laser technology, has aimed to revolutionize the uranium enrichment process, previously dominated by traditional methods like gas diffusion and centrifuges. The anticipated benefits of such technologies include enhanced efficiency, reduced energy consumption, and cost-effectiveness compared to conventional systems.

Industry Impact

Doug Freund, President and CEO of BGS (Bernhard Capital Partners), highlighted the importance of this agreement, stating, "This is a great opportunity not only for Enveniam and LIST, but also for the nuclear industry and the nation. This project is another significant step in reclaiming America’s nuclear energy dominance and boosting our energy independence."

The partnership comes at a critical time when uranium demand is expected to surge due to the resurgence of nuclear reactors, projecting a nearly 30% increase in the coming five years as reported by the World Nuclear Association. Such an uptick is driven by rising global energy demands and ongoing efforts regarding decarbonization.

Technological Advancements

Christo Liebenberg, President and Co-Founder of LIST, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, asserting that their innovative technology is poised to drastically enhance enrichment efficiency while bolstering the domestic supply of uranium to meet growing reactor market demands.

To further affirm this initiative, the U.S. Department of Energy has included LIST as one of the six companies in its Low-Enriched Uranium (LEU) Enrichment Acquisition Program. This program is designed to distribute up to $3.4 billion in funding, with each awardee expected to receive a minimum of $2 million throughout contracts lasting up to a decade.

A Visionary Future

The partnership promises an exciting future for Enveniam and LIST, as both companies merge expertise in project execution and nuclear technology. Jay Yu, Executive Chairman and CEO of LIST, emphasized the strength of their combined teams, stating, "Our engineering and technical teams have rapidly expanded, bringing together leaders in laser-based technologies and subject matter experts in regulatory licensing and facility construction."

As both organizations embark on this ambitious endeavor, they aim to create a facility that could reshape the landscape of nuclear energy in America. Lou Qualls, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Nuclear Solutions for BGS, remarked, "This agreement is the culmination of years of vision and collaboration. By uniting our areas of expertise, we're building a facility that will shape the future of nuclear energy."
