U24 Ambassador Business EQ Camp Kicks Off

The U24 Ambassador Business EQ Camp commenced on July 20, 2026, in Yamanashi, Japan, co-hosted by the local government and Imagina, a Tokyo-based branding and human resource development company. This innovative program targets young talents under 24, aiming to enhance their business emotional intelligence (EQ) and foster personal growth.

On the first day, participants engaged in a variety of interactive workshops designed to encourage self-disclosure and build a mindset focused on tackling challenges. The central theme revolved around developing the ability to ask critical questions, a skill essential for effective problem-solving in any business environment. A session on media literacy was also conducted by officials from Yamanashi Prefecture, providing the young ambassadors with a lesson on discerning valuable information in today’s media landscape.

Day One Overview

1. Introductions and Orientation: Participants began by signing a commitment document, reinforcing their intention to be active participants throughout the four-day program. An icebreaker activity helped establish psychological safety, allowing team members to discover common ground.

2. Workshop on Vulnerability: Emphasizing the importance of intellectual humility, fellows were encouraged to shed their biases and confront their weaknesses. This open expression was aimed at creating a safe space for honest reflection on their growth potential.

3. Media Literacy Lecture: This special session explored various initiatives and tasks undertaken by Yamanashi officials, equipping participants with essential skills to navigate the overwhelming information of today’s digital landscape.

4. Questioning Skills Workshop: Another integral part of the program focused on enhancing participants' questioning abilities. Attendees learned to appreciate the true value of inquiry and examined the common barriers that prevent effective questioning, particularly in Japanese culture.

Preview of Days 2 to 4

As the camp progresses into its subsequent days, the focus will shift towards self-awareness through a Cambridge assessment tool and workshops aimed at enhancing contributive morals—encouraging participants to look beyond personal development and consider their impact on society. The third day will involve cooperative team tasks, culminating on the final day with presentations to Governor Kotaro Nagasaki of Yamanashi and a certificate awarding ceremony.

The U24 Ambassador Business EQ Camp is not merely an academic learning experience; it is designed as an immersive program that combines individual learning with collective growth. By promoting collaboration and introspection, participants will emerge not only as better young professionals but as informed and engaged citizens.
