Transition of Greensboro's Premier Preschool Heralded by HINGE Advisors' Strategic Expertise

Transition of Greensboro's Premier Preschool

In a significant move for early childhood education in Greensboro, North Carolina, the Milestones School of Achievement, co-founded by Grant and Maizi Chilton in 1996, has officially transitioned ownership through a strategic sale led by HINGE Early Education Advisors. Known as one of the first dedicated early education centers in the area, Milestones has been a crucial component of the local childcare landscape for nearly three decades, proudly embodying a commitment to excellence in early education.

The Chiltons, who managed the school’s operations for almost 30 years, have opted to pass the baton to another esteemed provider in the early education sector. This decision comes after the Chiltons established Milestones as a pillar of quality childcare in the community, as evidenced by the multiple accolades the school has received over the years.

HINGE Early Education Advisors, recognized as the country's leading specialists in the growth and sale of childcare businesses, played an instrumental role in executing the sale. The transaction was marked by a robust interest from potential buyers, with more than 50 inquiries and nearly a dozen formal offers submitted. HINGE’s Transaction Advisor, Rich Hubschman, pointed out that the quality and reputation of Milestones made it a standout choice for investors entering the competitive North Carolina childcare market.

Located within the Piedmont Centre Business Park, Milestones holds a prestigious 5-star license from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. It is among the largest childcare centers in the state, boasting a licensed capacity exceeding 300 students. This expanding preschool has garnered over 30 awards, celebrating its operational excellence and commitment to service.

The Chiltons opted to partner with HINGE Early Education Advisors to maximize the sale's potential by tapping into a wide network of pre-vetted buyers and investors seeking quality childcare facilities. Their decision to sell was heavily influenced by the need to ensure that any new owner would uphold the values, care, and educational standards that have characterized Milestones for years. The fondness the Chiltons have for their students, parents, and staff has underscored their decision-making process throughout this transition.

"Our priority was to find a buyer who shared our dedication to Milestones’ mission, thoughtfully considering the impact on our students and staff," noted Grant and Maizi.
