Operation Homefront Appoints Katie O'Brien as Senior VP to Enhance Brand Engagement

Operation Homefront Welcomes Katie O’Brien as Senior Vice President of Brand

Operation Homefront®, the national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting military families, has announced the appointment of Katie O'Brien as its new Senior Vice President of Brand as of June 15, 2026. In her new role, O'Brien will spearhead initiatives aimed at elevating the Operation Homefront brand while simultaneously increasing awareness of its essential mission: to foster strong, stable, and secure families for military personnel and veterans.

Elevating Military Family Support

O'Brien expressed her enthusiasm for joining Operation Homefront at this pivotal moment, stating, "I am honored to join Operation Homefront at a pivotal moment of growth and transformation. I look forward to helping elevate the organization's impact, inspire greater support for military and veteran families, and ensure more families have access to the resources they need to thrive." Her dedication to this cause is evident, as her focus will be on amplifying the stories and experiences of those who serve the nation, further enhancing the mission of supporting military families.

Impressive Background in Brand Building

With extensive experience in brand development and integrated marketing strategies, O’Brien brings a wealth of knowledge to the organization. Previously, she held a key role at Make-A-Wish America, where she was instrumental in launching the first truly global integrated campaign that significantly increased revenue and external engagement. This experience showcases her capability in effectively connecting with audiences and enhancing brand visibility.

Prior to this, she served as the National Marketing Director at Wounded Warrior Project®, where she successfully established a marketing center of excellence. This role supported the launch of a flagship national fundraising event and aligned revenue generation efforts with the organization’s mission, thereby deepening the impact for post-9/11 veterans. Additionally, she has over a decade of experience in global sports marketing, including contributions to eight Olympic Games.

Regan Huneycutt, Chief Revenue Officer of Operation Homefront, expressed optimism about O’Brien’s appointment: "We are thrilled to welcome Katie to Operation Homefront as a powerful addition to our team. Her proven leadership in building impactful brands, driving innovative campaigns, and deepening understanding of and connections to our important work will be invaluable as we expand and strengthen support for military families."

A Commitment to Military Families

O'Brien obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Providence College, laying a strong foundation for her career in nonprofit marketing and brand strategy. Operation Homefront, recognized for its effective support programs, devotes 85% of its expenditures directly to these programs, assisting tens of thousands of military families annually. The organization focuses on essential services including financial assistance, transitional and permanent housing, and various family support programs—all aimed at ensuring military families not only survive, but thrive.

As Operation Homefront embarks on this new chapter with Katie O'Brien at the helm of brand initiatives, it prepares to enhance its outreach, develop innovative strategies, and deepen its connection with communities supporting military families. This leadership change promises to bring fresh perspectives and drive impactful changes in the nonprofit sector.
