GAC Achieves Eight Prestigious Awards, Highlighting its Innovative Technological Strength

GAC’s Technological Triumph

On October 28, 2026, GAC received eight prestigious awards at the China-SAE Science and Technology Awards Ceremony held in Suzhou, Jiangsu. Among these accolades, four were first prizes awarded to two projects led by GAC and two other initiatives in which the company participated. Additionally, a GAC-led project secured a second prize.

Excellence in Automotive Chips

One notable project focused on automotive chips, establishing a comprehensive supply chain from vehicle definition to large-scale application. GAC collaborated with 105 partners to integrate nearly 400 chip models, incorporating more than 1,000 domestically manufactured chips. This initiative included the launch of the HYPTEC GT Special Edition, marking China's first Intelligent Connected Vehicle (ICV) featuring wholly domestically designed chips.

Innovation in Electric Propulsion

GAC has also emerged as a trailblazer in the production of electric propulsion systems. By launching high-speed carbon fiber rotors and amorphous alloy stators, GAC became the world's sole producer of mass-market electric vehicle motors based on amorphous alloys. With a thickness of only 0.025 mm, their amorphous alloy tape delivers a maximum efficiency of 99.03% and a power density of 17.29 kW/kg at 1,000 volts—nearly three times the industry standard. These innovations translate into a 4% reduction in energy consumption and an extended driving range of 30 to 50 kilometers with equivalent battery capacity. This technology has been incorporated into models like HYPTEC, AION, and AISTALAND and is also offered to other automotive manufacturers. The precise manufacturing technology related to these components received the Jury's Gold Medal with Congratulations at the 51st Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions.

Advancements in Vehicle Safety

Moreover, GAC collaborated with Tsinghua University on a project that secured a second prize for developing China's first wholly domestically developed safety controller certified to ASIL-D standards. This initiative introduced real-time risk quantification systems, active suspension impact mitigation, a rear-window airbag, and an integrated rescue model connecting the automaker, traffic police, and hospitals. The technology has been integrated into 20 models, cumulatively selling 1.446 million units. Furthermore, the governance project for L2-L4 safety levels, in which GAC participated, established a complete lifecycle system covering pre-implementation phases, monitoring during operation, and post-event traceability.

Innovative Body Design Technologies

The raw body (BIW) project GAC was involved in features an AI-based design system capable of generating conceptual designs in less than five hours. This system boasts over 95% accuracy in predicting stiffness and enhances design efficiency by more than 30%. Such advancements have been applied in the second generation of the GAC GS8, GAC ES9, and the new GAC S7.

Looking Ahead

Looking toward the future, GAC pledges to maintain innovation-driven advancement, promote the commercialization of key technologies, and support high-quality development within China's automotive industry. For more information about GAC, visit GAC Group or follow us on social media.
