About the Manga
The
"Secrets of Food Trays" manga was developed collaboratively by Fukipco and Gakken. This educational material serves to explain various key concepts related to food trays—an essential component in supermarkets. Through vibrant illustrations, the manga details the production processes and recycling methods associated with food trays, making it easy for young learners to grasp the significance of these everyday items. Additionally, the book is available as a free e-book on the Gakken Kids website, ensuring accessibility for a wider audience.
Commitment to Environmental Issues
The Shizutetsu Store is actively engaged in multiple sustainability efforts, including the implementation of recycling boxes at all its locations. These bins allow customers to dispose of used food trays, plastic bottles, and milk cartons responsibly. The collected food trays are then repurposed by Fukipco into eco-friendly products such as the
"Eco Tray". Notably, these recycled products find their way back into Shizutetsu Store's shelves, creating a circular recycling system known as
"Store-to-Store.”
Fukipco and Shizutetsu Store aspire to become eco-leaders in their community, working closely with local residents to create a supportive environment for participation in recycling initiatives. They plan to further engage the community through educational outreach programs in schools and environmental events. This holistic approach aims to facilitate waste reduction and the development of reuse systems, ultimately addressing regional environmental challenges effectively.
