Miranda Lambert to Launch Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign at Cowboys Thanksgiving Game

Miranda Lambert to Kick off Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign

In a shining moment for the holiday season, Grammy-winning country music sensation Miranda Lambert will take the stage during the halftime of the Dallas Cowboys game against the Philadelphia Eagles. This much-anticipated performance will take place at ATT Stadium on Thanksgiving Day, marking the beginning of the 30th annual Red Kettle Kickoff for the Salvation Army. The event will be broadcasted nationwide by Fox at 3:30 PM CST, showcasing the significant needs many face during the festive season and the year-round efforts of the Salvation Army.

As part of this meaningful celebration, this year also marks the 136th edition of the Red Kettle Campaign, which over the past thirty years has evolved into a cherished holiday tradition. Leveraging a major sporting event, the campaign has raised over $3.4 billion, bringing hope and support to millions across the country. Lambert expressed her excitement, stating, “There’s something truly special about how music can bring people together, especially when it’s about spreading joy and hope to families in need.”

Charlotte Jones, branding director and co-owner of the Cowboys, echoed these sentiments. “The start of the Red Kettle Campaign has become one of our proudest traditions. It's a moment that my family and our organization look forward to each Thanksgiving. For over three decades, amazing artists have taken our stage during halftime to help the Salvation Army extend hope to millions.” Jones played a crucial role in establishing this unique collaboration between the Cowboys and the Salvation Army, which began in the 1990s. Her father, Jerry Jones, challenged her to draw fan interest towards the charitable impact of the Cowboys, leading to her innovative idea of marrying a national broadcast with the kickoff of the Red Kettle Campaign.

The inaugural halftime show was headlined by Reba McEntire in 1997, paving the way for iconic performers like Destiny's Child, Carrie Underwood, and Dolly Parton, making each performance a powerful call for nationwide generosity. “The Red Kettle Campaign gives people an easy way to spread joy and support their neighbors in need,” shared Merle Heatwole, National Commander of the Salvation Army. “For three decades now, the kickoff event has shared the spirit of giving with an expansive audience.”

Every donation made during this campaign goes directly to the community where it’s given, helping those who are struggling. To learn more about how to give or receive assistance, visit SalvationArmyUSA.org.
