Discover the Charms of Sado Island with 'Sado Eeccha TV!'

In a groundbreaking initiative to showcase the allure of Sado Island, the Sado Charm Promotion Project has launched an exciting new YouTube series titled 'Sado Eeccha TV!' This engaging program will be hosted by the renowned artist Jun Horie, famous for his hit song 'Memory Glass.' Alongside Horie, assistant announcer Ayaka Nakaya will join to passionately introduce the unique flavors, breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, history, and the warmth of its people.

Sado Island: A Treasure Trove of Experience

Sado Island, with a circumference of approximately 280 km and an area 1.4 times that of Tokyo's 23 wards, is the largest island in the Sea of Japan and accommodates around 50,000 residents. As interest in the island continues to grow, particularly in light of the Sado Gold Mine being registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site on July 27, 2024, it is time to delve deeper into what the island truly offers. Beyond its historical gold mine, Sado stunningly presents a clear sea, seasonal scenic beauty, delightful seafood cuisine like Buri Katsu-don, and a unique gastronomic culture featuring Sado beef. Additionally, the island boasts traditional music and talents that embody its rich cultural tapestry. The more one learns, the more compelling a visit becomes.

What Is 'Sado Eeccha TV'?

'Sado Eeccha TV!' is a year-round YouTube series aimed at delivering the magic of Sado. Each episode will feature segments like 'Sado no Unmee', which focuses on the island's culinary delights, popular tourist spots optimized for social media sharing, health discussions, and musical showcases featuring local talents such as singer-songwriter YAMATO and the Sado Music Project. The program's motto, 'Sado wa ~! Ee Tokora ~! (Sado is a wonderful place!), encapsulates its goal to connect viewers not only to tourist information but also to the heartfelt stories of those linked to Sado: its supporters, businesses, and fans. Thus, the show emphasizes that Sado is not merely a destination, but a place that grows increasingly fascinating the more connections one makes with it.

Kickoff Event: The Premiere of 'Sado Eeccha TV!'

To celebrate the launch of the series, there will be a public recording event on June 14, 2026, at SHIBUYA QWS in Tokyo. The gathering will feature Jun Horie, Ayaka Nakaya, and a host of guests, all united to promote Sado through gastronomic experiences, sightseeing information, and cultural showcases.
