New LEGO Art Set Celebrates Gustav Klimt's 'The Kiss' in Collaboration with Belvedere Museum

Discover the LEGO Art Gustav Klimt 'The Kiss'

LEGO Group has teamed up with the renowned Belvedere Museum in Vienna, Austria, to create an exceptional new art set aimed at adult fans. Launching on August 4, 2026, this unique LEGO Art set features 4,000 pieces and offers enthusiasts a chance to recreate one of the most celebrated artworks in history—Gustav Klimt's 'The Kiss.'

This impressive set is not just the largest in terms of piece count in the LEGO Art series, but it also embodies a deep appreciation for Klimt's artistic legacy. The set intricately reinterprets the rich emotional depth, ornate decorative motifs, and vibrant colors of the original painting using LEGO blocks. The culmination of art, design, and a fulfilling assembly experience promises an immersive journey for builders, all while honoring Klimt's distinctive style through its multidimensional textures and subtle details.

Developed with the assistance of the Belvedere Museum, where the original painting is permanently displayed, this set employs various LEGO elements—including curves, circular pieces, flower parts, and metallic gold elements—to capture the embrace of the iconic couple depicted in the artwork.

To complement the launch, LEGO Group has produced a podcast featuring Master Model Designer Milan Madge alongside Stephanie Auer, the curator of 19th and 20th-century art at the Belvedere Museum. Scheduled for release on August 1, 2026, via LEGO.com, Spotify, and YouTube, this episode dives into Klimt’s artistic heritage and the creative process behind translating 'The Kiss' into LEGO form, enhancing the overall assembly experience with engaging insights (note: content will be available in English only).

Milan Madge's Remarks:
Recreating Klimt's 'The Kiss' in LEGO blocks is a creative challenge that requires honoring this magnificent piece while reinterpreting its rich textures, gilded tones, and intricate details. By combining golden LEGO blocks with specially decorated elements, we’ve crafted an assembly experience that reflects the artwork's radiant beauty.

Stephanie Auer's Insights:
Working on the LEGO version of Klimt's 'The Kiss' was a once-in-a-lifetime experience as a curator. Collaborating with Milan Madge, we meticulously discussed Klimt's symbolism, decorative styles, and artistic techniques, focusing on authentically translating these aspects into LEGO while maintaining the spirit of the original work.
