The Annual JCDA Cheer Dance Competition

The much-anticipated JCDA Cheer Dance Competition will take place this summer, with some exciting new developments. Traditionally held in various regions such as Kanto and Kyushu, this year's competition will also welcome participants from the Kansai area, expanding its reach and appeal.

Every year, teams of students are reorganized in April, marking the beginning of a fresh competitive season. Upcoming Events

The 2026 JCDA Cheer Dance Competition will consist of three main events across different regions:

• - Kanto Tournament: Scheduled for July 24-26, 2026, at the Komazawa Olympic Park General Sports Ground Gymnasium in Setagaya, Tokyo, featuring 246 teams with 1868 participants.
• - Kyushu Tournament: Slated for August 11, 2026, at the Fukuoka City General Gymnasium in Fukuoka, accommodating 84 teams comprising 539 athletes.
• - Kansai Tournament: Taking place on August 18, 2026, at the Kyoto City Gymnasium, hosting 83 teams with a total of 525 participants.

Selection for Performance Cheer Grand Final

Teams that excel in this competition will earn recommendations for the Performance Cheer Grand Final, organized by the Japan Sports Cheer and Dance Association (Cheer Japan) in January 2027. Teams will be chosen based on their performance in different categories:

• - Open divisions including Doubles Pom and Doubles Hip Hop
• - Junior, Senior, Open, Middle School, High School, and University divisions across Pom, Jazz, and Hip Hop categories

This year, the emphasis will be placed on achieving a high score in the respective divisions, ensuring that deserving teams get the recognition they need to proceed to the grand final.

The event will be organized by the Japan Cheer Dance Association, with prominent sponsorship from well-known brands such as Chacott Co., Kowa Co., Dome Corporation (Under Armour), Meiji, Skater, Fujiya, and PR TIMES.
