Get Ready for an Enchanting Weekend: The 5th Annual DC Festival of Magic
This Labor Day weekend, from August 29 to 31, 2025, the Capital Hilton will transform into a magical wonderland for the 5th Annual DC Festival of Magic. Hosted since 2019, the festival has become known for its showcase of spectacular performances from some of the most talented magicians across the nation. This year promises to be even more thrilling, featuring mind-bending illusions, impressive sleight of hand, and plenty of laughs.
Founded and organized by the acclaimed magician Brian Curry, the event is geared towards both lifelong magic aficionados and curious newcomers, allowing everyone to enjoy the often-inexplicable charms of magic. Recognized as Washington City Paper's Performing Artist of the Year and a Milbourne Christopher Award winner for Mentalism, Curry’s influence is sure to be felt through the weekend’s events.
Festival Events:
The festival weekend kicks off on Friday evening with a unique show led by Andi Gladwin, where audience members are encouraged to bring their own shuffled decks, resulting in entirely unpredictable performances of astonishment and wonder. Following this, Saturday features two amazing performances:
- - David Corsaro: Known for his exceptional skills, Corsaro will entertain with a special show drawing from over 27 years of experience. Currently a fixture on Monday Night Magic, one of New York City’s longest-running off-Broadway magic productions, Corsaro’s act is not to be missed.
- - Lucy Darling: Brightening up the Saturday lineup, Lucy Darling will bring her award-winning charm and wit to the stage. As the “Mistress of Magic,” her performances echo playful improvisation and clever writing paired with astonishing trickery.
On Sunday, families will be thrilled to experience John Reid's family-friendly show, filled with laughter and amazement, suitable for audiences of all ages. The final act of the festival will witness the masterful Eric Jones, whose unmatched sleight-of-hand skills have dazzled audiences on national platforms such as America's Got Talent.
Evening Cocktails and Magic:
After every show's excitement, The Statler Lounge invites festival-goers for themed cocktails mixed with casual tableside magic every night from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m., featuring local magician talent.
