This event will take place at their Omotesando office, housed in a building that has been refurbished after 50 years of operation. This initiative is part of the larger Tokyo Architecture Festival 2026, which aims to explore and celebrate sustainable architectural practices.

The Renovate Office will be open to the public for a special tour, inviting attendees to immerse themselves in a space that epitomizes sustainable design and innovation. Visitors can join workshops focused on upcycling art, where they will learn to transform what is considered 'waste' into valuable creations. The event will also feature a flea market along Antique Street, fostering connections around the idea of preserving and cherishing items of the past.

• - Special Open House: Get a glimpse of the Renovate Office, reimagined as a sustainable work environment known as 'Crossing Field.' This dynamic space is designed to stimulate creativity and collaboration, showcasing nine different activities to redefine the meaning of an office. Guided tours will be available, where the design team will share insights on their creative vision.

• - Upcycling Workshops: Through collaborations with Pimlico Arts Japan, participants can engage in creating unique artworks using reclaimed materials such as ocean plastic debris. This hands-on experience encourages individuals to find beauty and function in items that may otherwise be discarded.

• - Flea Market at Antique Street: The flea market will invite vendors who cherish sustainability as much as we do. The space will showcase vintage goods and furniture that reflect a commitment to longevity and quality. Participants can enjoy coffee and light snacks as they browse through one-of-a-kind pieces.

Why is this Important?

In the current construction industry, there's a growing emphasis on quantifying the environmental impact throughout all stages of a building's life cycle through methods such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Renovation is being recognized for its potential to extend the lifespan of existing structures while reducing CO2 emissions and waste compared to new builds. - Capacity: 8 per session; advance reservation required through an electronic ticket service.
