Experience India: Summer 2025 Study Tour

Join us for a unique opportunity to explore India while supporting children's rights from August 1st to August 8th, 2025! Organized by the non-profit organization Free the Children Japan (FTCJ), this week-long study tour allows participants to interact with local communities, engage with NGOs, and witness the impact of educational initiatives firsthand.

About Free the Children Japan

Founded with a mission to support vulnerable children in developing countries, FTCJ collaborates with local NGOs to provide education, build schools, and improve the livelihoods of impoverished families. The organization aims to empower individuals to rise out of poverty through sustainable support and education.

Tentative Itinerary

  • - Day 1: Participants will gather at Haneda Airport and take a flight to Kolkata via Delhi.
  • - Day 2: Meet with local NGO partners to discuss ongoing challenges facing children in India, including poverty and child labor. Visit a village supported by FTCJ, experiencing firsthand the impact of goat assistance programs for women.
  • - Day 3: Engage in meaningful interactions with youths rescued from street situations and child labor, now supported by the CCD (Centre for Communication and Development).
  • - Day 4: Visit a local elementary school, where you'll interact with children and learn about their daily lives. A visit to a Hindu temple will also be included.
  • - Day 5: Volunteer at a facility established by Mother Teresa, supporting impoverished individuals. We will then board an overnight train to Varanasi.
  • - Day 6: Explore Varanasi, known as a sacred site for Hindus and Buddhists alike, including a visit to Sarnath, where the Buddha delivered his first sermon.
  • - Day 7: Experience a sunrise boat tour on the Ganges River, followed by a yoga session for relaxation. Finally, travel back to Delhi and depart for home.
  • - Day 8: Arrive back at Haneda Airport in the morning.

This program offers an enriching experience filled with cultural exchange and humanitarian learning.
