Nous Entertainment has officially announced its latest endeavor, the long-awaited book and limited series titled 'African Hustle.' This intriguing project centers on the tumultuous backdrop of Africa’s longest-running war while following the life of a street-smart American—Martin Fine—who, after fleeing Philadelphia due to mafia pressure, becomes deeply embroiled in a harrowing power struggle involving Africa's most influential leaders, MI6, and the CIA.

The Plot Overview

At just 21 years old, Fine arrives in Uganda, embarking on a multi-year journey across northeastern Africa. During this journey, he becomes involved in smuggling precious stones while grappling with his moral integrity and an unexpected romantic interest. The plot thickens as he finds himself pursued by indomitable dictators such as Idi Amin and Mobutu Sese Seko, whose violent power struggles are exacerbated by the Cold War and the fierce scramble for diamonds and uranium.

Reflecting on the narrative’s essence, author John Kweli (a Swahili pseudonym meaning “truth”) stated, "This story ultimately explores how mankind, when confronted with warfare on such a grand scale, descends into the primal instincts that lead us into the depths of darkness."

Throughout his perilous and emotional journey, Fine encounters numerous historical figures, including legendary boxers Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, and promoter Don King, alongside corrupt political and intelligence forces that threaten to derail him.

Nous Entertainment is currently on the lookout for a suitable showrunner to oversee the series, although multiple directors are also being considered for the project.
