Discover the JAF Base on Open Day

The Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) Tokyo branch is hosting a unique event on June 17 and 18, where children can explore the normally inaccessible roadside assistance bases. Designed for preschoolers and elementary school students, this "JAF Road Service Base Open Day" aims to educate kids about JAF and traffic rules in an enjoyable atmosphere.

The event will take place at two JAF bases in Tokyo, the Hachioji base and the Kodaira base, providing a fantastic opportunity for nearby children to learn and have fun simultaneously. Last year, a similar event saw overwhelming interest, with registration exceeding threefold at Hachioji and fivefold at Kodaira for the preschool division. As a result, there will be no cap on the number of preschool attendees this year, allowing for free entry throughout the event hours.

Event Highlights

Participants can look forward to an array of engaging activities:

• - Wrecker Manufacturing Display: Witness how wreckers are built and maintained.
• - Riding Experience: Kids can have a thrilling ride in an actual wrecker, which will be a memorable experience.
• - Photo Sessions: Capture the fun moments with family and friends in front of the wrecker.
• - Children's Safety Driver’s License: Children will receive a fun and educational safety driver’s license, making them feel like real drivers.

The event aims to familiarize families with the local JAF and promote awareness of traffic safety. The Tokyo branch is committed to holding similar events throughout the year at various other roadside assistance bases in the area, ensuring that the community gets to experience the “friendly JAF” up close.

• - Date and Time:

- June 17, 2025: JAF Hachioji Base (5-31-10 Owadacho, Hachioji, Tokyo)
- June 18, 2025: JAF Kodaira Base (4-29-32 Onuma-cho, Kodaira, Tokyo)

• - Schedule:

- (1) Preschoolers and their guardians: 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
- (2) Elementary School Students: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

• - Admission Fee: Free
• - Target Audience: Preschoolers to elementary school students (Preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian).
• - Capacity:

- (1) No limit for preschool attendance.
- (2) For elementary students, a maximum of 10 children per session (minimum of 5 required for the event).
