On December 6, 2024, Governor Jared Polis, alongside CiviCO, proudly declared the recipients of the 2024 Colorado Governor's Citizenship Medals, an annual event celebrating the exemplary contributions of individuals and organizations within the state. The medals aim to recognize those individuals and entities that have demonstrated outstanding leadership and an unwavering commitment to enhancing their communities.
CiviCO is a prominent nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a culture of leadership throughout Colorado. Their mission is to inspire both established and emerging leaders to unite in their efforts to improve the state. This year’s award recipients exemplify this vision through their remarkable work and dedication to making a positive impact.
2024 Medal Recipients:

Ed Dwight – A distinguished aerospace pioneer and celebrated sculptor, Ed is honored with the
Vanguard Legacy Medal for his transformative contributions to the community throughout his illustrious career. His nomination was supported by History Colorado, reflecting his significant influence in arts and education.

Vinay Nair – As the CEO and founder of TIFIN, Vinay has been a trailblazer in fintech innovation, receiving the
Growth and Innovation Medal. His entrepreneurial spirit and creativity have inspired many across the state, and he was nominated in partnership with Endeavor Colorado.

Katy Anthes – An education leader recognized for her public service, Katy is the recipient of the
Public and Community Service Medal. Her dedication to innovation and operational excellence in education has significantly benefitted Colorado's youth and was nominated by the University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs.

Rayan Elfahan – A rising medical professional and community advocate, Rayan is awarded the
Emerging Community Leader Medal. His commitment to making a difference in his school and local community has set an example for young leaders, with recognition from The Boettcher Foundation.

United Launch Alliance, Tory Bruno (President and CEO) – Acknowledged with the
Corporate Citizenship Medal, United Launch Alliance has positively shaped its community through its innovative culture and vision, emphasizing corporate responsibility. Their nomination came in partnership with Mile High United Way.
Governor Polis expressed his pride in presenting these awards, emphasizing the essential role of leaders in shaping Colorado's future. He stated, "Each year, it is an honor to present the Governor's Citizenship Medals and recognize the remarkable individuals, organizations, nonprofits, and businesses dedicated to making Colorado an even better place to live for everyone."
