On the night of August 8th, viewers are invited to a splendid Gifu special featuring two captivating programs: "Gifu Atarimae Travel" and the majestic "Gifu Nagara Fireworks Festival". This exciting night promises breathtaking views, gourmet experiences, and thrilling fireworks displays.

Gifu Atarimae Travel: Nakatsugawa and Ena Edition

The first program runs from 6:30 to 7:25 PM, showcasing the beautiful Nakatsugawa and Ena regions of Gifu. The show presents a unique spin on the popular "Aichi Atarimae World" series, highlighting a delightful fictive couple journeying through these iconic areas. Comedian Kayoko Okubo and singer Kentaro Kokado make for an entertaining duo as they explore known tourist spots easily accessible from Nagoya via the Shinano Limited Express, taking just about 50 minutes.

Surprises Along the Journey

As they explore the nostalgic streets of Magome-juku, they indulge in local treats like 'oyaki' and select souvenirs that reflect the cultural essence of the area. A highlight includes a sumptuous lunch at the famed Haginoya, where they savor delectable dishes that showcase local flavors.

The couple's adventures continue to the historic remains of Naegi Castle, where they unearth insights about future modes of transport and enjoy contrasting experiences in Iwamura, where they try out various Japanese sakes, leading to a tipsy moment for Kayoko!

Their journey culminates at the iconic Ichikawa Ryokan, where they are treated to the succulent taste of Hida beef steaks, leaving them longing for more.

A Romantic Surprise

In a touching climax, Kentaro reveals a surprise featuring Hiroaki Fueida, a well-known tenor, serenading the couple amidst the serene sound of flowing rivers. The performances capture the essence of love, with Kayoko's sweet confusion making the moment all the more poignant.

Gifu Nagara Fireworks Festival: A Dazzling Display of Illumination

The festivities continue with the second program, broadcasting live from 7:25 to 8:55 PM. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Nagara River, Gifu Castle, and Mount Kinka, the "Fourth Gifu Nagara Fireworks Festival" promises an enticing showcase.

Renowned pyrotechnicians from across the country gather to paint the night sky with vibrant colors through awe-inspiring firework displays. This year’s festival theme, “Wishing for Peace,” features a spectacular 600-meter wide Ultra Ultra Wide Star Mine and thrilling musical fireworks, ensuring an exciting viewing experience not to be missed.

The event is brought to life through a collaborative broadcast by TV Aichi, Gifu Channel, and BS11, promising viewers a comprehensive and exhilarating front-row seat to one of Japan’s most celebrated summer events.
