Oceanco Unveils Unique Yachts 'Leviathan' and 'Draak' at Monaco Yacht Show 2026

Oceanco's Bold Showcase at Monaco Yacht Show 2026

Oceanco, a renowned name in yacht building, is making waves at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026 with its groundbreaking presentations of two stunning vessels: Leviathan and Draak. These yachts epitomize Oceanco's commitment to innovation and collaboration in the marine industry, marking a significant step towards redefining the purpose and design of yachts.

Visionary Collaboration

Oceanco's reputation has been built through partnerships with visionary owners who are not afraid to challenge the status quo. This year, Oceanco is proud to present both a new build and a refit at the show. The Leviathan, measuring an impressive 111 meters (364 feet), and the Draak, coming in at 93 meters (305 feet) long, have been designed with the values of teamwork and community at their core. Gabe Newell, who joined Oceanco in July 2025, is the proud owner of both vessels, and their unveiling at the Monaco Yacht Show marks a pivotal moment.

Marcel Onkenhout, CEO of Oceanco, emphasizes, "Every owner we collaborate with has a distinct vision, and each project presents us with unique challenges. We are excited to reveal two yachts that genuinely reflect our commitment to collaboration and innovation."

Design Philosophy

The design process for Leviathan and Draak has been remarkably collaborative, leading to unconventional layouts and a crew-centric philosophy. Both yachts are intended to operate seamlessly together, serving as support vessels within Newell's Inkfish fleet. Gabe articulates the ethos behind Inkfish as a focus on supporting the scientific community. By working closely with researchers, they aim to deploy technology and resources to assist scientific endeavors, from facilitating access to remote locations to developing new tools and technologies.

Leviathan: A New Benchmark

Scheduled for delivery in November 2025, Leviathan sets a new standard in yacht design and operation. The yacht is envisioned to create an immersive environment where guests and crew are encouraged to interact. Constructed from low-maintenance materials, it maximizes crew productivity while providing specialized facilities, including a diving center, a laboratory, and a medical area to support Inkfish's activities.

Draak: The Reimagined Vessel

In June 2026, Oceanco completed an extensive overhaul of Draak, repurposing the vessel for a new mission. Alongside Leviathan, it will now facilitate Inkfish expeditions, equipped with advanced diving gear, a robust fleet of tenders, and high-capacity lifting systems. Many of the innovative construction and operational principles established in Leviathan have also been applied to Draak, ensuring both yachts work in harmony.

Progress and Future Vision

The Monaco Yacht Show also marks the anniversary of Gabe's time with Oceanco, during which the fleet expansion has been accelerated. Newell's commitment to a cooperative ecosystem has been bolstered by partnerships with firms like Alewijnse and Winel, alongside other specialized companies like Aluship, Lateral, and Mercury. As Oceanco looks to the future, the company is eager to explore ambitious visions of yacht ownership, leveraging the technology ecosystem that the group has established.

"Almost everything I have worked on has advanced technology in ways that benefit our customers," Gabe remarks. "Our goal is to identify interesting technologies, prototype them, and move towards mass production."

Networking Opportunities at Monaco

As one of the premier events on the yacht calendar, the Monaco Yacht Show presents an invaluable opportunity to connect with clients, partners, and industry professionals. Throughout the week, Oceanco will participate in a carefully curated program, showcasing Leviathan and Draak at the cruise terminal and various reception areas throughout the exhibition.

Oceanco welcomes discussions with potential clients eager to bring their unique visions to life, especially regarding new builds and refits. To maximize visits, interested attendees are encouraged to schedule one-on-one consultations with the sales and life-cycle support teams at the show.
