On August 4th, 2025, the Japan Planning Institute (JPI) will host a significant seminar focusing on the latest trends and implementation strategies for disaster prevention digital transformation (DX) initiated by Japan's Cabinet Office. The event will feature insights from Mr. Hitoshi Kiribe, the Advisor for Disaster Digital and Material Support.

As Japan faces demographic challenges, including a declining birth rate and increasing challenges in disaster response, proactive planning and improved capabilities are essential for handling future National disaster like the anticipated Nankai Trough mega-earthquake.

The seminar will delve into three primary initiatives:
1. New Comprehensive Disaster Information System (SOBO-WEB): Enhances information sharing among municipalities during large-scale disasters.
2. New Material System (B-PLo): Visualizes emergency material stockpiling and enables widespread coordination during disasters.
3. Cloud-Based Disaster Victim Support System: Optimizes and streamlines municipal operations for managing evacuation shelters and issuing disaster certificates.
