Cocoo Launches Kitakyushu Office to Accelerate Women’s DX Participation

Cocoo Expands with New Office in Kitakyushu

Cocoo Corporation has taken a significant step in promoting talent development in the digital era by opening its new office in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, on June 2, 2025. This office represents Cocoo's fifth regional location, succeeding those in Osaka, Fukuoka, Toyama, and Hamamatsu. With a focus on nurturing women with no prior experience in digital transformation (DX), Cocoo aims to support local companies in enhancing their DX initiatives within the region. This initiative, dubbed “Chisan Chikatsu”, emphasizes creating opportunities for local talent to thrive in their own communities.

The Need for Local Development

Kitakyushu City faces a unique set of challenges, including an aging population and a declining workforce. To counteract these trends, the local government is committed to fostering job creation, particularly geared towards attracting young people and women. Cocoo's approach is to work closely with local authorities and organizations like the Kitakyushu Chamber of Commerce, focusing on empowering women and boosting the DX landscape within the region.

The new office will not only serve as a hub for hiring and training local women as DX professionals but will also be strategically located within the same building as the “Woman Work Café Kitakyushu”. This arrangement will facilitate collaborative events aimed at networking and skill-building, allowing women to envision themselves as role models in the DX industry.

Commitment to Local DX Promotion

Cocoo is dedicated to establishing an environment conducive to the DX advancement of local businesses in Kitakyushu. By leveraging the city's industrial strengths—traditionally known for its manufacturing capabilities—the initiative aims to accelerate the digital transformation of sectors such as automotive and semiconductors. By nurturing local DX talent, Cocoo hopes to contribute significantly to regional economic growth and sustainability.

Creating an Ecosystem for Success

The establishment of Cocoo's Kitakyushu office aims to build a sustainable ecosystem supporting women's workforce participation and local DX initiatives. By employing digital novices from the area, Cocoo seeks to address labor shortages and promote diversity and inclusion through accessible training programs. This initiative aligns closely with Cocoo’s long-term vision, “VISION 2030”, which targets the establishment of 30 regional offices nationwide.

The local government enthusiastically supports this initiative, with key officials expressing optimism about the new office's role in enhancing employment opportunities for young people and women in Kitakyushu. The collaborative efforts between Cocoo and local agencies aim to drive economic development while expanding the available skill sets in the region.
