Yoyogi Animation Academy Reveals Favorite Anime Among New Students

Yoyogi Animation Academy's Anime Survey Results for New Students

The Yoyogi Animation Academy, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, conducted a survey among its incoming students for the academic year 2025 to determine their favorite anime and role models in the industry. The results are intriguing and reveal the current trends and preferences of anime enthusiasts.

Favorite Anime Rankings

In response to the question of their favorite anime, the survey revealed that 'Haikyuu!!' took the top spot with 65 points, followed closely by 'My Hero Academia' with 60 points, and 'Attack on Titan' securing the third position with 47 points. These results reflect the competitive spirit among popular titles and resonate with the academy's curriculum that focuses on anime and entertainment.

When asked about the anime currently being watched, the results were quite different. The most-watched title among incoming students was 'The Apothecary Diaries' with an impressive 126 points, followed by 'WIND BREAKER' at 63 points, and the evergreen favorite 'Detective Conan' with 47 points. The presence of shows that were not airing during the survey period suggests that students are actively engaging with past series through various streaming platforms, indicating a broader consumption of anime beyond real-time broadcasts.

Admired Figures in the Anime Industry

In terms of whom they admire or respect, the students expressed a strong preference for industry voices. The joint top contenders were renowned voice actors Natsuki Hanae and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, both receiving 35 points. Following them in third place was Yuichi Nakamura with 29 points. This finding underscores the popularity and influence of voice actors in the anime industry, particularly among those aspiring to join the creative field.

Additionally, the survey did not solely highlight voice actors; it was refreshing to see a diversity of admired figures including animators, directors, illustrators, and even VTubers. This highlights the multi-faceted world of anime and entertainment that the Yoyogi Animation Academy prepares its students to enter.

Survey Overview

The survey was conducted through an internal questionnaire among the incoming students to Yoyogi Animation Academy. The data collection took place between April 25 and April 30, 2025, with a total of 555 valid responses collected from recipients.
