IFEZ Unveils Incheon's Vision for an AI City at CES 2026

The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) made headlines at
CES 2026 in Las Vegas by unveiling its ambitious vision for an AI City, highlighting the future of urban living and innovation. The Incheon-IFEZ Pavilion, covering an area of 139 square meters, was located within the AI Zone of the North Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This strategic setting allowed IFEZ to engage with a global audience, spotlighting its commitment to revolutionizing city life through artificial intelligence.

Pavilion Highlights

Under the overarching theme "Destination Incheon — From Smart City to AI City," the pavilion showcased a structured presentation divided into three distinct zones:

1. AI SMART LIVING ZONE – This zone emphasized a citizen-oriented approach, focusing on how AI can enhance everyday services related to mobility, safety, energy management, and health care. The goal was to illustrate how technology integrates seamlessly into residential life, making services more accessible and effective.

2. AI INNOVATION HUB ZONE – Designed as a collaborative space for industries, this zone aimed to highlight IFEZ’s commitment to fostering innovation across various sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, food processing, and pharmaceuticals. Interactive displays illustrated practical AI applications that drive efficiency and promote growth within diverse business landscapes.

3. AI CREATIVE CITY ZONE – The final zone celebrated cultural and creative initiatives, showcasing how AI can enrich content creation and entertainment options within urban settings. Here, visitors experienced AI-driven artistic endeavors, hinting at a future where creativity is amplified through technology.

Throughout the exhibition, IFEZ laid the groundwork for sustainable urban living by presenting innovative concepts and models that align with global trends in smart cities.

Global AI City Forum

A key component of the event was the Global AI City Forum, which convened city leaders and industry experts to discuss Incheon's strategic aspirations for its AI City. This forum facilitated an exchange of ideas between Incheon and Fairfax County, Virginia, emphasizing their long-standing economic development partnership. Discussions focused on building innovation ecosystems, supporting startups, and testing new technologies in real-world environments.

Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok of Incheon emphasized the importance of CES 2026, stating, "This event is a pivotal platform for showcasing Incheon's vision for its next phase of growth as a leader in AI urbanization. Our city has championed transformation and innovation for over two decades, and we are committed to this new chapter."

Networking Events

To foster collaboration, IFEZ curated a series of networking opportunities throughout CES 2026. One notable event was the "CES 2026 Incheon Night," which encouraged dialogue and partnership exploration among participating companies, stakeholders, and international firms. Additionally, IFEZ organized a Business Day on January 8, connecting visiting delegations with Incheon-based businesses, facilitating 11 direct meetings aimed at generating business matches and investor relationships.

Such initiatives demonstrated IFEZ's intent to establish Incheon as a central player in the global AI city landscape. As the pavilion attracted visitors eager to learn about advanced technologies shaping the city’s future, the overarching narrative was clear: IFEZ is dedicated to driving urban innovation towards a more sustainable and connected future.
