Brazos Residential Welcomes Wyatt Simmons as Chief Investment Officer

On June 18, 2026, Brazos Residential, a prominent firm in the multifamily real estate private equity sector, declared the appointment of Wyatt Simmons as its new Chief Investment Officer (CIO). With nearly a decade of experience in the multifamily real estate arena, particularly in asset management, acquisitions, and sourcing debt and equity capital, Simmons is set to strengthen Brazos’ strategic initiatives and investment capabilities.

Simmons has an impressive background, having been involved in the origination and execution of over $3.5 billion in combined debt and equity transactions within commercial real estate. This includes around $2.5 billion specifically in multifamily capitalizations. Before joining Brazos Residential, he held key positions in Capital Markets at notable institutions, including Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) and Bank of America. Most recently, he contributed significantly to Brazos as the Vice President of Acquisitions.

His expertise lies in identifying lucrative investment opportunities and fostering relationships with institutional partners to effectively finance, structure, and execute significant transactions.

Having joined Brazos Residential in late 2022 when the firm owned approximately 2,000 units, Simmons played a pivotal role in the firm’s impressive growth trajectory to around 7,000 units. His contributions have been vital in sourcing acquisition opportunities and establishing institutional capital relationships that are critical for further expansions.

James Roberts, President and Co-Founder of Brazos Residential, expressed confidence in Simmons’ capabilities. He stated, "Wyatt's track record in the multifamily sector and his comprehensive understanding of capital markets make him an invaluable addition to our leadership team. His experience in identifying unique opportunities, combined with his leadership capabilities, will support the firm's continued strategic growth."

Simmons earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. He remains actively engaged with the University of Texas Undergraduate Real Estate Society (URES) and The Real Estate Council (TREC), reflecting his commitment to the real estate community.
