Explore Your Future: A Seminar on Aspirations with a Current Emergency Physician

Explore Your Future Seminar

On November 20, 2026, at 19:30 JST, join us for the 37th installment of the "Explore Your Future" seminar, hosted online via Zoom. This engaging session will bring together high school students and their parents for an enlightening experience aimed at broadening their horizons regarding career aspirations. The seminar is presented free of charge, making it accessible to all interested parties, even those who are not currently enrolled in Toshin High School or Toshin Satellite Prep School.

About the Seminar

The seminar series, organized by Nagase, Inc., which operates Toshin High School and its affiliated satellite schools, seeks to provide high school students with inspiration and guidance as they navigate their future career choices. This month, we are thrilled to welcome Dr. Naoki Okada, a current emergency physician and CEO of fcuro, who will discuss the intersection of medicine, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship during his lecture titled "Creating Your Future: The Blend of Medicine and Information Science Opens New Pathways."

Dr. Okada's background is impressive: he is the Chief of Emergency Medicine at Osaka Acute and General Medical Center and a professor at a specialized university in innovative information management. In addition to his role as a practicing clinician, he is deeply involved in AI research and implementation in healthcare. With a focus on combating preventable trauma deaths, Dr. Okada's work reflects a commitment to advancing medical technology.

Why Attend?

This seminar is not only about academic achievements; it is about understanding new professions emerging in the digital age. By inviting leaders who are continuously creating value in society, the seminar aims to help students expand their perspectives, discover their dreams, and elevate their ambitions. Previous speakers have included data scientists, white-hat hackers, and machine learning engineers, all providing students with insight into newer opportunities.

Participants will be encouraged to think critically about their future: "What do I want to be?" and "What is the purpose of my studies?" This is particularly crucial for students grappling with uncertainties about their futures.

A Message from Dr. Okada

In his own words, Dr. Okada emphasizes, "The future begins with your willingness to try. What do you want to pursue as a career?" With a unique journey that took him from dropping out of the University of Tokyo to graduating from Keio University School of Medicine, he shares how a casual conversation inspired him to dive into the field of AI. His path involved self-learning programming and ultimately leading to the development of an AI tool named ERATS, which assists in medical imaging interpretation.

Dr. Okada's mission transcends merely creating advanced technology; he aims to implement useful solutions within medical practice to eliminate preventable deaths. By spreading knowledge on the application of AI through books and striving to create a collaborative healthcare environment, he hopes to inspire the next generation.

Participants will have opportunities to ask questions after the lecture, allowing for an interactive exchange of ideas.
