Conexus Expands Its Operations into Salt Lake City as Part of Growth Strategy for 2026

Conexus, a prominent national consulting and recruiting firm specializing in the Office of the CFO, has announced an exciting expansion into Salt Lake City, marking the beginning of a broader strategy for growth in 2026. The company is leveraging its expertise to enter three new markets beyond its established West Coast presence while continuing to cater to its clients across the country.

Salt Lake City has been identified as a promising market that aligns perfectly with Conexus's long-term vision.

According to Mike Kelly, Managing Partner of Conexus, this region is increasingly attracting private equity sponsors and entrepreneurs due to its favorable economic conditions. It boasts a robust cash flow environment, tax efficiency, and a rich talent pool, making it a hotspot for high-growth companies.

Kelly emphasized, "The needs we're addressing here mirror what we see across the U.S., and this expansion strengthens our capability to support clients wherever they operate." This assertion underscores the firm’s commitment to delivering value and strategic assistance to its clientele.

To spearhead this new market entry, Conexus has appointed Alessandro Cozzi, who possesses over 20 years of diverse experience in finance, accounting, mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, and artificial intelligence. This wealth of knowledge will be invaluable as Cozzi partners with clients nationwide, catering to both regional and multi-location organizations.

Cozzi’s expertise isn’t limited to transitional leadership roles; his specialization spans interim and permanent placements in sectors such as finance, accounting, human resources, and technology. His approach focuses on partnering closely with clients to match high-impact talent with their strategic business goals directly, whether they be local market initiatives or broader enterprise transformations.

Before joining Conexus, Cozzi served as a Director at Korn Ferry. There, he successfully launched and scaled the firm’s interim and temporary consulting practice in Utah and the West Coast. In this role, he was instrumental in placing senior-level finance and accounting executives for various national and global clients.

Cozzi's career trajectory has also included senior roles in corporate development and mergers and acquisitions, where he collaborated with major corporations and private equity investors. He has contributed to over $6 billion in growth and value creation across the U.S. and Europe. Cozzi's career began at Deloitte, where he transitioned from audit services to transaction advisory and M&A sectors, further enhancing his skill set.

The expansion into Salt Lake City represents a pivotal milestone for Conexus as the firm intensifies its focus on high-growth markets, premier talent acquisition, and delivering top-tier service for its clients in the Office of the CFO and other sectors. This strategic move is indicative of the firm's broader ambitions as it prepares to respond to increasing client demands and market opportunities.

Cozzi remarked, “This expansion is not just about growth for Conexus, but also about growing our ability to help companies thrive in evolving landscapes. As industries change, so do their needs, and we are here to provide the support necessary for their success.”

Headquartered in Southern California, Conexus is known for its swift expansion across key markets in the United States, providing various services in interim consulting, advisory solutions, direct hiring, and executive search in finance, accounting, technology, and human resources.

Notably, in 2025, Conexus completed over 300 executive and direct hire placements and facilitated more than 600 interim and advisory engagements with around 250 consultants deployed across the nation, showcasing its successful growth strategy.

In January 2024, Conexus received a significant investment from Mid Ocean Partners, a firm that has a longstanding interest in human capital businesses. This investment represents MidOcean's fifth venture into the sector, highlighting their confidence in Conexus's business model, which is poised to capitalize on clear and strong growth trends within the human capital industry.

Conexus continues to solidify its place as a key player in the consulting and recruiting space, primed for future success through its unique offerings and continuous expansion efforts. With the addition of Salt Lake City, the company is set to enhance its service offerings while addressing the evolving needs of its clients on a national scale.
