Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) is taking significant strides towards providing accessible education by launching three new online Master of Science programs in Criminal Justice set to begin in Fall 2025. These programs will focus on crucial areas such as Homeland Security, Cybersecurity, and Criminal Justice Administration, thus catering to the growing demand for educated professionals in sectors that safeguard national security and public safety.
Under the endorsement of Dr. Marcus Ynalvez, Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, these programs aim to offer advanced knowledge and tools necessary for leadership roles within various criminal justice fields. Dr. Ynalvez stated, “These new concentrations represent an exciting evolution of our Criminal Justice portfolio. By introducing specialized tracks in Homeland Security, Cybersecurity, and Criminal Justice Administration, we are expanding access to high-demand fields and meeting the needs of today's learners.”
Details of the New Programs
TAMIU’s innovative Criminal Justice programs will consist of the following:
- - Master of Science in Criminal Justice – Homeland Security: This track is structured to prepare graduates for leadership roles related to disaster response, counterterrorism, and emergency management. The curriculum will focus on equipping students to address modern security challenges.
- - Master of Science in Criminal Justice – Cybersecurity: In an age where cyber threats are pervasive, this program will arm students with the necessary expertise in digital forensics, cybercrime prevention, and risk management, catering to the increasing demand for cybersecurity professionals.
- - Master of Science in Criminal Justice – Criminal Justice Administration: This program focuses on developing critical leadership and policy-making skills needed to spearhead reform and improvements within law enforcement agencies, correctional institutions, and other key areas of the justice system.
These online programs will feature a convenient format with seven-week courses, allowing students the potential to complete their degrees in as little as 12 months.
