Fukagawa Gatharia Launches Stunning Christmas Illumination to Celebrate the Future

Fukagawa Gatharia Kicks Off Christmas Illumination

Fukagawa Gatharia, located in Koto, Tokyo, is ushering in the holiday season with its breathtaking Christmas illumination event titled 'Blooming the Future – Let's Make the Future Bloom'. Organized by Fujikura Ltd. under the leadership of CEO Naoki Okada, this festive light display will run from November 4th to December 25th, showcasing the transformative power of light to symbolize hope and renewal.

A Blooming Experience

The central plaza of Fukagawa Gatharia will feature a magnificent main tree, approximately 10 meters tall and adorned with 20,000 sparkling LED lights. This stunning centerpiece will grace visitors with its beauty and will be complemented by captivating light shows at the top of each hour, from 6 PM to 7 PM.

The theme of the illumination focuses on the concept of flowers blooming, signifying growth and the emergence of new beginnings. The lights will not only create a visually striking environment but also evoke a sense of optimism and joy as winter approaches.

In addition to the main tree, the entire Fukagawa Gatharia grounds will be enveloped by around 200,000 LED lights, creating a vibrant atmosphere. New architectural elements, such as the recently completed LEGARE building, enrich the garden-like concept of the area, connecting various spaces harmoniously.

Visitors can look forward to delightful features, including colorful floral arch photo spots designed to bring smiles and joy to all who attend. The illumination will also continue beyond Christmas to Valentine's Day on February 14, 2026, with select displays remaining active.

A New Identity for Fukagawa

Fukagawa Gatharia represents a significant urban redevelopment project by Fujikura, aimed at establishing a new identity for the Fukagawa and Kiba area. This transformed space combines cultural preservation with modern development, creating an area where people can gather and interact thoughtfully.

This multipurpose complex, built on the site of the former Fukagawa factory, opened its doors in 2003. The recent addition of LEGARE has further enhanced the facility, bringing together offices, supermarkets, cinemas, restaurants, and fitness clubs under one roof.

As a brand, Fukagawa Gatharia embodies the ideals of gathering, with its name derived from a combination of 'GATHER' for community engagement and latin suffix 'IA' representing places. The facility aims to be a hub of activity and connection for local residents and businesses alike.
