Embracing Empathy: The Journey to an Engaged Society
On June 20, 2025, La torche Co., Ltd., led by CEO Sanae Akima and based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, will host an enlightening online event titled
"Fresh Start LIVE #3: How to Make It 'Personal'? - Creating Organizations and Projects That Move Forward Together". This free-to-attend event will be streamed on YouTube and Instagram Live as part of the
Fresh Start Project, a support initiative that arose following a tragic event experienced by Jeremy Hunter, a professor at the Drucker School, whose home was lost to a fire in January 2025.
The main objective of this event is to delve into the essential question:
How can we transform the empathy we feel into a personal commitment? It aims to provide insights into fostering a culture of participation within teams and organizations, aiming to eliminate the discrepancies and disengagement often felt among individuals involved in such projects.
The Power of Understanding and Engagement
The event will feature discussions among three industry practitioners who will share their real-world experiences in overcoming the hurdles of engaging others. They will explore poignant themes such as:
1. How can we draw out a sense of responsibility from others? and 2. What creates the gaps in emotions and engagement within collaborative efforts? The dialogue will be rich with insights on crowdfunding efforts, social initiatives, and organizational management, making it a practical resource for anyone involved in projects requiring collaborative engagement.
Notably, this discussion not only offers theoretical frameworks but also serves as a real documentation of a project that transitioned from mere support to true co-creation, highlighting how empathy can become a powerful catalyst for change.
