Celebrating Victory and Heritage at the Formula 1 Moët & Chandon Belgian Grand Prix 2026

Honoring the Legacy of Moët & Chandon and Formula 1® at the Belgian Grand Prix 2026

Moët & Chandon, the prestigious Champagne house from the Moët Hennessy Japan Co., Ltd., located in Kanda Jimbocho, Tokyo, has proudly participated as the official champagne of Formula 1® in the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix, under a decade-long global partnership with LVMH and Formula 1®. This year marks the second consecutive year that Moët & Chandon has served as the title sponsor of this iconic race, further enriching the legacy of excellence, precision, and emotions that both the Champagne house and the racing organization have built over the years.

Held at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit, this event witnessed Moët & Chandon creating a unique celebration where drivers, teams, and fans came together to share in the joy of victory. It’s important to note that a win is not solely attributed to the driver; it’s a special moment shared with the collective efforts of the team and the enthusiastic cheers of the spectators.

During the race, celebrated drivers like Kimi Antonelli, Charles Leclerc, and Max Verstappen ascended the podium, and the exhilarating atmosphere was transformed into a jubilant celebration, accentuated by Moët & Chandon champagne.

Sibylle Scherer, President and CEO of Moët & Chandon, expressed, "The victory at Spa-Francorchamps bears a unique energy, especially shared by the driver, team, and fans. Our role is to create a celebration and experience that befits that thrill, honoring the performance and teamwork behind it and making that shared moment unforgettable."

Spa-Francorchamps: A Homecoming for Craftsmanship

The Spa-Francorchamps circuit is among the most legendary in motorsport history, a place where heritage, tradition, and the pursuit of excellence constantly intersect. Nestled in the Ardennes, near the Champagne region, this venue feels like a natural homecoming for Moët & Chandon.

Since its inaugural event in 1950, Spa has remained a staple in Formula 1® history, echoing the legacies of early champions. A noteworthy moment was on June 18, 1950, when Juan Manuel Fangio claimed victory at the circuit. Shortly after, he celebrated his success at the French Grand Prix in the Champagne region, where Paul Chandon-Moët and Count Frédéric Chandon de Briailles witnessed his win. This historic connection established one of the earliest symbolic links between Moët & Chandon and the world of motorsports. In 1950 at the Reims Grand Prix™, Count Frédéric Chandon de Briailles presented a champagne bottle to the race victor, marking a defining moment in the relationship between the renowned champagne brand and racing—a relationship that continues to be embodied in victory celebrations today.

Against this historical backdrop, the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix unveiled a unique tribute from Moët & Chandon, including a modern homage to the Silver Jeroboam Trophy and an extraordinary culinary experience called "The Out Lap" held within the circuit.

The Silver Trophy: A Modern Interpretation of Victory's Icon

This year, Moët & Chandon paid homage to a special symbol representing its journey through motorsport. Silver has served as a symbol of victory, celebrated by Moët & Chandon for about 30 years in Formula 1®. In the 1996 and 1997 seasons, race winners proudly held the Silver Jeroboam on the podium. Moreover, the silver sculptural Jeroboam was awarded to the driver who accumulated the most Grand Prix wins throughout the season.

In 2026, Moët & Chandon honored this silver legacy with a modern tribute. Using a special Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman owned by the Maison since 1971, they unveiled a new creation. This historic car has welcomed numerous guests from the world of Formula 1®, including Alain Prost and Jean Todt, to Moët & Chandon's estate. By presenting the new Silver Jeroboam Trophy in this distinguished vehicle, Moët & Chandon beautifully intertwined its historical legacy with the celebration of contemporary victories.

The Out Lap: A Culinary and Wine Experience at the Circuit

At the Spa-Francorchamps, Moët Hennessy, in collaboration with Formula 1®, introduced a new hospitality experience known as "The Out Lap." This offering blended the story of Formula 1®, exquisite gastronomy, and exceptional wines into an unprecedented experience.

Twelve invited guests gathered around a special dining table that moved throughout the circuit, exploring notable spots synonymous with Spa-Francorchamps—from the top of Radillon to the foot of Eau Rouge, the iconic curves of Pouhon, and the final stretch before La Source. At each location, former Formula 1® drivers shared stories intertwined with their memories and experiences, allowing guests to relive the tension and excitement once felt by drivers, thus deepening their appreciation for the allure of Spa-Francorchamps.

The journey was further enhanced by the exquisite Moët & Chandon champagne. Benoît Gouez, the chief winemaker, showcased the Maison’s champagne, proposing pairings with dishes crafted in collaboration with Chef Yannick Alléno. Through food and wine that resonated with each story, they encapsulated the precision of the circuit, the passion of Formula 1®, and the artistry of Moët & Chandon’s craftsmanship.

Benoît Gouez remarked, "Narrating the story of Spa-Francorchamps through the Maison’s cuvées and Chef Alléno's cuisine was an immensely creative challenge. It allowed us to create a dialogue between the precision of the circuit and the craftsmanship involved in making champagne. Every stop at the circuit holds a story. Each pairing was carefully chosen to evoke the emotions tied to those locations, transforming the tasting into a journey through place, movement, and memory."

Joining as the inaugural chef for "The Out Lap," Chef Yannick Alléno, who oversees 26 restaurants and holds the record for the most Michelin stars globally, embraced the experience's aspirations. Specially designed for this event, the lavish menu included warm royal dish paired with the iconic "Moët Impérial," langoustine poached with special arrangements alongside the "Grand Vintage 2016," and exceptional wagyu and foie gras served with eel, culminating in memory-making culinary offerings.

Chef Yannick Alléno stated, "Being the first chef invited to kick off 'The Out Lap' at Spa-Francorchamps immediately captivated me. Formula 1® and gastronomy share a culture of performance built on precision, innovation, and collective strength. Behind every victory and every extraordinary culinary experience lies a dedicated team, precise execution, and an unwavering attention to detail. I am grateful to Moët & Chandon and Moët Hennessy for the opportunity to participate in this debut and thrilled to have collaborated with Benoît Gouez to craft an experience worthy of this legendary circuit."

As the celebration from the circuit transitioned to the podium, Moët & Chandon vividly illustrated the craftsmanship of victory at Spa-Francorchamps, elevating the celebration into an unforgettable moment of shared joy.
