Artist Statement
Mariko Kitajima shares a heartfelt statement that resonates deeply with her viewers:
“The person I am now is built upon countless days, whether happy, sad, or tough, that overlap with my existence. For me, painting is a dialogue with the canvas, weaving my experiences into art. I cannot exist alone; I thrive through the connections I have formed and cherish the encounters that have shaped me.”
Through her works, viewers are invited to ponder their identities. The connection to the artist's personal journey adds layers of meaning to her art, making it a mirror for the audience’s own reflections.
