Rocket League Season 20 Launch Details
Psyonix, based in San Diego, California, is thrilled to announce the launch of
Rocket League's Season 20, set to kick off on
September 17, 2023. This new season promises an exciting menu of features and upgrades that will enhance the gaming experience for players around the world.
New Arena and Rewards
For Season 20, players will step onto the fresh new arena called
Boostfield Mall. Players can also look forward to logging in to find the unique character
Mad Rad as a reward. Those purchasing the
Rocket Pass Premium will instantly unlock the classic vehicle body
Pontiac Firebird, while progressing through premium tiers will allow players to unlock the
Chevrolet Astro vehicle body.
Exciting Additions in Season 20
This season brings several key upgrades that ensure a thrilling gameplay experience:
- - Upgraded 4v4 Mode: Players will experience two larger arenas, designed to accommodate up to eight players. The inclusion of more speed-up pads, along with reconfigured layouts, aims to create smoother matches and a more dynamic game pace.
- - Rocket Pass Progression Updates: Every tier of the Rocket Pass will now require the same amount of XP to advance, speeding up the progression. The previously existing challenge drops will now be replaced with XP for a more streamlined experience.
- - Sonic the Hedgehog Collaboration: As part of this season, players can expect the arrival of the fan-favourite speedster from the Sonic franchise, with rewards like the player banner Sonic Sidescroller and the wheels Sonic Looper. Midway through Season 20, additional content related to Sonic the Hedgehog will also be introduced, offering even more excitement.
- - Changes to Competitive Playlists: To combat issues such as smurfing, new players will now need to complete the New Driver Challenge to unlock access to competitive playlists instead of reaching level 20. This change aims to foster a fair matchmaking experience for all players.
Season 20 will run until
December 3, 2023, giving players ample time to explore and enjoy everything it has to offer. For more detailed insights on this latest season of Rocket League, be sure to check out the dedicated blog.
