Ad-Sol Nissin and Future Artisan Introduce Sustainable Factory IoT for Sustainability Management

Ad-Sol Nissin and Future Artisan's Strategic Partnership

Ad-Sol Nissin Co., Ltd., headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, and Future Artisan, Inc., based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, have teamed up to address the pressing need for sustainable practices in manufacturing. They have announced a new initiative called Sustainable Factory IoT (SF-IoT) to assist companies, especially those listed on the TSE Prime, in implementing sustainability management and accelerating Green Transformation (GX).

Background and Objectives

As the development of sustainability disclosure standards progresses, the significance of non-financial information in corporate governance grows. For process-based manufacturing industries, it is critical to tackle challenges such as environmental impact reduction throughout the supply chain, maximizing resource efficiency, and ensuring traceability. Recent standards published by the Sustainability Standards Board Japan (SSBJ) require prime-listed companies with a market capitalization exceeding three trillion yen to disclose greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3) starting from the fiscal year ending in March 2027. This mandates companies to respond promptly and proactively.

In light of these developments, Ad-Sol Nissin is leveraging its strengths in IoT and AI technologies, GIS spatial information, and achievements in building smart factories, in partnership with Future Artisan’s understanding of factory operations and ESG management consulting capabilities. By combining their expertise, they aim to promote concrete sustainability efforts based on data from manufacturing sites, contributing to Japan's sustainable development.

Overview of the Strategic Partnership

Both companies are combining their experiences in developing and consulting ICT systems for manufacturing and logistics industries to construct and offer the SF-IoT. This partnership aims to address the sustainability requirements and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring continuous growth in a manner that is environmentally sustainable.

Key Features of the Sustainable Factory IoT (SF-IoT)

The SF-IoT initiative focuses on:

1. Flexible Implementation and Scalability: Ad-Sol Nissin's capabilities in IoT and AI, along with GIS spatial information technology, will provide a comprehensive ecosystem that allows for part implementations and phased expansion to various domestic and international sites.

2. Centralized Management and Visualization of Sustainability Data: The initiative will consolidate energy usage, GHG emissions, and other relevant environmental data across factories and companies into a common platform, enhancing management and visualization while improving efficiency in reporting based on SSBJ standards.

3. GX Consulting and DX Solutions: Comprehensive support will be available from the formulation of sustainability strategies to the introduction and operation of specific DX solutions. Future Artisan will offer a range of consulting services from ESG education to reduction contributions and corporate value co-creation (Scope V), beginning with assessments using prototypes.

Future Developments

Moving forward, Ad-Sol Nissin and Future Artisan plan to target industries with high GHG emission ratios, promoting the development of solutions for GX and Sustainability Transformation (SX) and preparing to offer assessment services utilizing prototypes. Further details regarding the expansion of targeted industries and the timeline for specific service offerings will be communicated in due course.
