Fostering Career Perspectives: The DOMINISTA CHALLENGE
Dormy Inn, a notable business hotel chain operated by Kyoritsu Maintenance Co., Ltd., is set to host the DOMINISTA CHALLENGE, a career experience program aimed at middle school students. Scheduled for January 15, 2026, the program will take place at the Dormy Inn Premium Nagoya Sakae, targeting students from Hatori Middle School in Nagoya.
What is the DOMINISTA CHALLENGE?
Launched in 2019, the DOMINISTA CHALLENGE serves as an engaging platform for junior high and high school students across various hotels in Japan. This initiative offers students a rare opportunity to delve into the hospitality industry by participating in activities such as front desk operations, cleanliness standards, and bed-making. Not only do these experiences expose students to the intricacies of work, but they also instill a sense of community and the importance of collaboration through direct interactions with guests visiting their local area.
In an increasingly globalized world, this hands-on experience allows students to learn about multicultural coexistence while embracing the significance of kindness and service. Over the years, this program has welcomed participants from more than 80 schools, with eight schools from the Tokai-Hokuriku region alone. It forms a vital part of career education, enabling students to nurture their job perspectives and local pride.

Insights from Dormy Inn Premium Nagoya Sakae Manager
We are grateful to be selected as a platform for this significant career exploration. Observing how we engage with our guests will provide students with a chance to grasp the importance of empathy and perspective. Additionally, I encourage them to discover that hotel operations extend well beyond the front desk, learning about the diverse roles and collaboration required to manage a successful hotel. Our team is committed to ensuring this experience is meaningful for all participants.
Context and Future Aspirations
In an era of heightened societal and economic unpredictability, it is crucial to provide young individuals with a tangible understanding of the meaning and joy of work. The DOMINISTA CHALLENGE aims to offer insights into future possibilities, fostering a sense of attachment to their hometowns. As Japan faces a declining population, cultivating a generation that is dedicated to addressing local issues is essential.
