Samsung's Mobile Technology to Connect Athletes and Fans at Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics

Connecting Moments: Samsung's Role in Milano Cortina 2026

Samsung Electronics, a worldwide partner of the Olympics and Paralympics, has recently announced its plans to leverage mobile technology and Galaxy AI to enrich the digital experiences during the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. This cooperation is aimed at enhancing interaction between athletes and fans, providing an immersive experience throughout the event.

As the Olympic and Paralympic Games evolve, they transcend traditional boundaries of single venues or broadcast times. The Milano Cortina 2026 Games, notable for its diverse geographical locations and vast distances among venues, present new challenges and opportunities for engagement. Samsung seeks to connect these elements through innovative technology, aiming to create a more cohesive experience for athletes, fans, and the Olympic community.

Enhanced Broadcast Experiences

In collaboration with the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), Samsung will introduce dynamic video experiences during the opening ceremony. By utilizing the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the company will integrate mobile technology into the production of the live broadcast. This will allow for a multi-faceted and engaging viewing experience, capturing various moments from different angles and expanding the broadcasting reach.

Supporting Volunteer Communication

Samsung will support smooth communication among volunteers by providing select staff with Samsung Galaxy devices equipped with Galaxy AI's translation feature. This tool will help eliminate language barriers between athletes, stakeholders, and attendees, ensuring natural and efficient communication. The translation process is performed offline within the device, making it reliable even in the expansive event space.

Fair Competition Management

Samsung’s technology will also contribute to fair competition by supplying real-time video verification systems for sports like short track speed skating. By using Samsung monitors, officials will gain quicker access to visuals, enhancing the accuracy and speed of their judgment during competitions.

Visitor Support through Charging Stations

To support spectators during extensive competition viewing, Samsung will set up Galaxy charging stations at various venues. This will ensure that visitors can enjoy the events worry-free, keeping their devices charged throughout the Olympic experience.

A Hub of Innovation: Samsung House

Samsung will establish the Samsung House, located in the historic Palazzo Serbelloni in Milan, serving as an interactive storytelling space where athletes, media, and partners can gather. This venue will showcase the technological innovations brought to the Olympics and facilitate cultural exchanges, engagements, and shared experiences among attendees. The House will host an array of programs including live event screenings, collaborative activities with National Olympic Committees, and culinary experiences curated by renowned Italian chefs.

The Samsung House will officially open on February 4, coinciding with the Olympics, and will remain active until February 22, with a subsequent reopening during the Paralympics from March 6 to March 15. It will serve as a highly engaging environment for meaningful interactions throughout the Games.

Samsung’s overarching goal for Milano Cortina 2026 is to connect fans and athletes at every moment and reinforce the human aspect of the Games. Stephanie Choi, Vice President and Head of Mobile Marketing at Samsung, emphasized the importance of mobile technology in bridging gaps between competitors and audiences, highlighting its growing role in connecting people and allowing them to share breathtaking moments within the Olympic spirit.

Samsung's Legacy in the Olympics

Since the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, Samsung has been a strong partner with the Olympic Movement, showcasing its commitment to innovation in mobile technology over nearly 30 years. With its partnership continuing through the Los Angeles 2028 Games, Samsung aims to enhance digital experiences using groundbreaking technologies such as AI, VR, AR, and 5G in Olympic settings. This ongoing dedication to transforming how fans and athletes engage with the Games demonstrates Samsung’s integral role in the continued evolution of sports experiences worldwide.

In addition to the Olympics, Samsung has supported the Paralympics as a worldwide partner since Torino 2006, utilizing its innovative technologies to create an inclusive environment for athletes and fans alike. Samsung’s commitment to enhancing social connections through technology will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in the ongoing dialogue of the Olympic spirit during the upcoming Milano Cortina Games.
