Another Works Promotes New Career Paths Through Guest Classes in Yokohama Middle School

The Rise of Side Jobs: A Class on Future Career Paths

In an innovative effort to reshape the future of work, Another Works conducted a guest class at Tsurumi Junior High School in Yokohama, Japan, focusing on the concept of 'side jobs'. The session was led by Eiko Kuroda, the Brand Manager at Another Works, who imparted valuable insights to students regarding modern career options and work styles.

Context of the Guest Class

Japan is experiencing a significant transformation in its employment landscape, driven by factors such as an aging population, declining labor force, and changing work styles. The revised model employment regulations are enhancing awareness about the need for diverse working arrangements. Amid this change, the interest in 'side jobs' has surged, presenting a new avenue through which individuals can broaden their career choices. This approach not only helps individuals expand their professional horizons but also addresses issues such as talent shortages within organizations and societal challenges. Recognizing this, Another Works has been a pioneer in promoting alternative career paths across the nation since its establishment in May 2019.

As a matching platform connecting individuals seeking side jobs with organizations and local governments, 'Side Job Cloud' has achieved remarkable milestones, including over 100,000 registered talents and the integration of 2,500 organizations as of June 2026.

In this era of change, it's imperative that young people become aware of various career paths early on, allowing them to explore opportunities for self-determination in crafting their careers. By learning about the option of 'side jobs' during their middle and high school years, students can significantly widen their future options.

In light of this, Another Works has been offering guest classes nationwide to impart lessons on 'the joy of working', 'the breadth of options available', and 'the potential benefits of side jobs'. This initiative goes beyond mere career education; it embodies the company's vision of maximizing opportunities for all individuals willing to take on challenges.
