China's Largest Electrochemical Energy Storage Project Reaches Significant Milestone

Major Milestone in China's Energy Storage Revolution

In a groundbreaking achievement for renewable energy, SINEXCEL has successfully completed the installation of all storage units for China's largest electrochemical energy storage project, boasting an impressive capacity of 600 MW/2400 MWh. This pivotal event marks a significant step as the project moves into the electrical commissioning phase. As the first ultra-high-voltage (UHV) transmission project in China, it uniquely integrates wind, solar, thermal energy, and storage.

The ambitious project includes 240 battery containers and 60 Power Conversion Systems (PCS), which are poised to bring substantial renewable energy into the grid—approximately 840 GWh annually. This remarkable capacity can store up to 2.4 GWh in a single charge, sufficient to power 480,000 homes or 36,000 electric vehicles for up to 500 km. Thus, the project not only addresses local energy needs but also contributes to a greener transportation sector.

Moreover, SINEXCEL has also facilitated a separate storage project of 220 MW/880 MWh in Ningxia, which has successfully been connected to the grid. Leveraging the region's abundant solar resources, this project further enhances renewable energy reliability and grid stability, ultimately supplying close to 200 GWh of electricity per year.

The featured 1725 kW PCS is a critical component designed for utility-scale applications. With its scalable modular architecture ranging from 215 kW to 1.72 MW, it effectively supports centralized and chain configurations. The PCS is compatible with various battery types, providing flexible implementation across diverse storage scenarios, including large commercial and industrial applications, microgrids, and front-of-the-meter systems.

Engineered for maximum efficiency, the PCS achieves up to 98.5% efficiency with advanced multi-chain technology that enhances battery protection. Additionally, the robust design features certified NEMA 3R cabinets ensuring durability in outdoor settings. The unit's rapid response time of 10 ms allows for real-time balancing of electricity supply and demand, adapting effectively to grid variations.

Holding a remarkable global presence across over 40 countries, SINEXCEL has successfully deployed more than 12 GW of storage capacity, empowering various utility-scale, commercial, and industrial applications.

With their commitment to quality and sustainable energy solutions, SINEXCEL's success in these flagship projects underscores their technical prowess and dedication to a more resilient energy future. As a company founded in 2007, SINEXCEL continues to lead innovations in energy storage, electric vehicle charging, and power quality, collaborating with industry leaders to champion energy freedom.

In conclusion, the successful implementation of such energy projects not only propels China's energy storage capabilities but also serves as a significant mover in the global transition toward cleaner, sustainable energy systems. As the world watches, the implications of these developments extend far beyond China's borders, heralding a new era in energy efficiency and sustainability. This project symbolizes a commitment to advancing technology while ensuring a greener planet for future generations.
