Claros Technologies Secures $10 Million to Boost PFAS Destruction

Claros Technologies, Inc., a leader in advanced PFAS destruction and analytical technologies, has made headlines by securing a significant amount of funding to further its mission. On August 13, 2025, the company announced that it had raised $10 million through a convertible note to enhance the commercial deployment of its innovative ClarosTechUV™ technology aimed at eliminating harmful PFAS compounds from the environment.

This funding comes at a crucial time as global regulations around PFAS tighten, pushing manufacturers towards sustainable solutions. The increasing scrutiny and legal actions surrounding PFAS usage have made the market ripe for solutions like those offered by Claros. The demand for cost-effective and permanent destruction technologies has soared across North America, Europe, and Asia, highlighting the urgent need for ClarosTechUV™.

The convertible note was backed by a diverse group of investors, including existing partners like Capita3, University of Minnesota, American Century Private Investments, and the F. R. Bigelow Foundation, alongside new strategic investors. This coalition showcases a strong commitment to supporting Claros's innovative technology and its potential to address one of the most pressing environmental challenges today.

Michelle Bellanca, the CEO and co-founder of Claros, emphasized the significance of this recent funding and its critical role in supporting the company's growth trajectory. "Our recent pilot project with Daikin America, Inc. was a game-changer, demonstrating a 99.99% effectiveness in destroying PFAS in high-flow wastewater settings. This success not only established a new benchmark for scalable and cost-effective PFAS destruction but also validated our capability to handle various PFAS forms efficiently and affordably. As regulatory pressures mount, the industry is seeking durable and reliable solutions, and our partnership with Daikin marked a pivotal turn for our operations. The convertible note is a testament to our investors' confidence and serves as a vital tool for our rapid response to the urgent demand," she stated.

Steve Sefton, President of Clearwater Equity, expressed his views on Claros's position within the widespread PFAS issue: "It’s undeniable that Claros is at the forefront of addressing this environmental crisis. While PFAS remains integral to various industrial processes for the foreseeable future, it is imperative that waste from their manufacturing and use does not continue contaminating our environment. Claros provides a leading-edge solution that eliminates PFAS at the source, meeting today's regulatory requirements while helping industries prepare for stricter standards ahead."

Kathy Tune, Managing Partner at Capita3, acknowledged their longstanding support for Claros, highlighting the importance of this latest funding in advancing its mission. "When the history of the industry’s fight against PFAS is written, there will be a clear before and after moment tied to Claros. They are innovating solutions that provide genuine economic incentives for manufacturers and PFAS users to do the right thing, aligning with increasing regulatory demands and offering substantial benefits for both businesses and the environment."

With this new funding, Claros has now raised a total of $39 million since its establishment, encompassing initial grants, seed funding, and institutional investments. The capital will enable the company to scale its ClarosTechUV™ system for PFAS destruction, expand pilot programs and installations worldwide, and enhance its business operations in North America, Europe, and Asia.
