Expanding eSports as an Entry Point for Learning in Japan's Franchise Free Schools

Revolutionizing Learning through eSports: The RE:VISION Model

In Japan, the integration of eSports into education is gaining momentum, and RE:VISION is at the forefront of this transformation. Founded by N・SOURCE, RE:VISION offers a unique free school model that uses gaming to support children, particularly those who have struggled with traditional education settings. With its initial success in Tachikawa, Tokyo, the organization is set to expand nationwide through a franchise model, commencing with the newly established RE:VISION Chiyoda campus.

Recognizing the Need

According to a recent Ministry of Education report, there are approximately 354,000 children in Japan who are currently not attending school, a number that has been steadily rising for 12 consecutive years. Alarmingly, around 136,000 of these children receive no specialized support, leading to isolation and inability to connect with educational resources. In contrast, eSports remains a common interest among children, presenting a unique way to engage them in learning. By leveraging their passion for gaming, RE:VISION provides a platform for children to reconnect with education in a supportive environment.
