Exciting High-Grade Copper Discovery at Profunda
Pan Global Resources Inc. has announced significant findings from the Profunda target within its fully-owned Cármenes Project in northern Spain. Recent channel sampling has shown high copper grades, alongside notable percentages of cobalt, nickel, and silver. The underground explorations have produced a generally favorable mineralization profile, raising excitement about the project’s potential.
Key Findings from Profunda Target
The recent results of the sampling work indicate 27 samples averaging an impressive 3.62% copper (Cu), 0.17% cobalt (Co), 0.09% nickel (Ni), and 5.7 grams per ton (g/t) of silver (Ag). Some of the standout samples have revealed:
- - 25.7% Cu, 0.37% Co, 0.53% Ni, and 41.7 g/t Ag in a 1 m segment,
- - 5.2% Cu, 0.14% Co, 0.13% Ni, and 5.9 g/t Ag over a stretch of 5 m,
- - 8.5% Cu, 0.10% Co, 0.11% Ni, and 20.1 g/t Ag across a 2 m interval,
- - 2.2% Cu, 0.07% Co, 0.06% Ni, and 2.4 g/t Ag in a 3 m section.
Project Scope and Geology
The Profunda target covers an area measuring approximately 500 m by 150 m, based on early copper results from soil samples and alteration mapping. The region has a deep history of mining operations, particularly in the early 1930s when resources like copper, nickel, and cobalt were actively extracted.
Currently, Pan Global is advancing drilling operations at the nearby Providencia target, which has shown similarly promising high-grade results, further reiterating the area’s potential. Tim Moody, the company’s President and CEO, expressed optimism over the prospect, noting the continuity of high-grade mineralization evidenced in the recent sampling.
Ongoing Exploration and Future Plans
The exploration team has outlined additional drilling at Providencia, designed to confirm the extent and continuity of copper and gold mineralization. Initial soil sampling with portable XRF devices indicate a robust geochemical copper anomaly stretching 500 m x 150 m, hinting at substantial undiscovered mineralization beyond current mining areas.
New channel samples from the upper 60 meters of the Profunda mine, which has tunnels extending to depths of around 260 meters, suggest a significant occurrence of breccia-associated mineralization alongside fault structures trending east-west—an important geological feature supporting further discoveries.
In addition to copper, Pan Global has identified high-grade gold zones adjacent to the main breccia in the Providencia area, highlighting the project’s diverse mineral potential. The firm’s Escacena project in southern Spain, focusing particularly on the Bravo target, continues to undergo expansion drilling, with expected results by the second quarter of the year.
Conclusion
With copper performance and demand creating a favorable marketplace, Pan Global Resources Inc. aims to tap into this significant opportunity. Their strategic focus on exploration, complemented by a team experienced in safe mining operations that respect environmental considerations, positions the company favorably in a rapidly evolving industry landscape. The upcoming results from further drilling at both Profunda and Providencia will be closely monitored by stakeholders eager for insight into the project’s promising developments.
