ADC Submarine Cable's Launch Marks a New Era of Connectivity in Asia-Pacific
ADC Submarine Cable: A Transformative Venture in Connectivity
On March 24, 2025, the commissioning of the ADC Submarine Cable was celebrated at the Everbright Centre in Hong Kong, marking a pivotal moment in enhancing online connectivity across the Asia-Pacific region. This project is the result of a collaborative effort between notable telecommunications companies including China Telecom, China Unicom, Singapore Telecom, SoftBank of Japan, TATA Communications, VIETTEL of Vietnam, NT from Thailand, and PLDT from the Philippines. Spanning nearly 10,000 kilometers, the ADC Submarine Cable seamlessly connects mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and various other regions within the Asia-Pacific. The cable's state-of-the-art design incorporates an open cable architecture along with advanced optical transmission technology, providing a per-fiber pair capacity of more than 20 Terabits per second, and a total system capacity exceeding 160 Terabits per second. This robust infrastructure will deliver vital routing options that bolster network resilience and stability, thereby strengthening the digital backbone of the entire region.
The launch event witnessed the participation of over a hundred esteemed attendees, including distinguished figures from the political and commercial realms, industry specialists, and representatives from key media outlets.
