Exciting Collaboration in the 19th Cafetalk Concert Series: Kalin and Musical Performances!

Cafetalk, an online learning platform connecting students and teachers from around the world, is set to host an extraordinary event on July 11, 2026, at Tokyo's JZ Brat, located on the second floor of the Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel. Among the stars of the show is Kalin Hashizume, a high school student currently studying abroad in Florida. Trained through Cafetalk's vocal lessons, Kalin will share the stage with her very first vocal coach, Saya Kawashima, in what is set to be her debut musical recital.

In this special performance, Kalin will take the audience on a journey through her life—from her early encounters with music in the United States to her current studies and passions in musical theater. The recital will feature a variety of musical pieces and selections from notable musical productions, all under the theme of Kalin-style entertainment. Accompanying Kalin will be her mentor, Saya Kawashima, on vocals, while Yuki Hatano will perform on drums and Nami Hisada will play piano.

Meet the Performers

Main Vocalist: Kalin Hashizume
As a high school freshman, Kalin began her singing journey in the United States during her childhood. After returning to Japan, she became fascinated by musicals, participating in various performances like the children's theater production "Lon's Flower Garden"—playing the role of Ron—alongside winning top accolades in national music competitions such as the 3rd Tokyo International Wind and Voice Competition and the 47th Smash Cabaret.

Presently, she balances her academic pursuits with her burgeoning musical career as she continues her studies in Florida, eagerly exploring opportunities to further her skills in performing arts.

Guest Vocalist: Saya Kawashima
Originally from Sapporo City, Saya graduated from Hokkaido University of Education with a focus on vocal music and completed her graduate studies there as well. Saya has an impressive background in various singing competitions, securing top positions in numerous events. With performances that transcend genres, she has collaborated with established big bands and has been a well-respected voice coach, delivering over 5,000 online lessons. Her appearances on national television further highlight her influential role in education and performance. As Kalin’s first voice coach, she has dedicated herself to nurturing her talent.
