Grand Opening of RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES: A New Era in Digital Art Experience

Grand Opening of RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES

Today, June 12, 2026, the groundbreaking digital art facility RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES has officially opened its doors at Tokyo Dream Park, a venue that debuted on March 27, 2026. In a world where the line between art and technology continues to blur, this innovative establishment offers an immersive experience that enables guests to move beyond mere observation to truly engaging with art on a sensory level.

A Unique Art Journey

With the concept of transitioning from 'watching' to 'experiencing', RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES brings together state-of-the-art projections of light and sound, inviting visitors to explore the essence of art with all five senses. The art displayed here is not limited to traditional forms; it exemplifies a dynamic fusion of digital technology that elevates the way we appreciate artistic masterpieces.

To celebrate the opening, the facility held a special preview event on June 11, where renowned actress Nao Matsushita graced the occasion as a guest. Her insights into the unique artistic environment were as illuminating as the art itself. During her preview experience, Matsushita described the ambiance as transformative, stating, "RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES is an extraordinary space that envelops you in art. Unlike a conventional museum, it felt as if I were living in that era or becoming part of the artwork itself. It sparked my desire to explore art more passionately.” Her comments highlight the multi-faceted sound design integral to the experience, where the moods of the music complemented the visual narrative, amplifying the emotional impact.

Captivating Moments and Artistic Exploration

During the event, the host Ayaka Hironaka, an announcer for TV Asahi, guided the program, which featured a talk session that touched upon Matsushita's role in the upcoming drama series "Daitsuiseki: Tokyo Police Department's SSBC's Second Season." In a light-hearted exchange, Hironaka remarked on the stark contrast between the intense drama and the serene beauty of the art venue, to which Matsushita responded, "Being in this beautiful space was a refreshing experience amid my usual busy filming days. I want to share this experience with my co-stars and highly recommend it to them!"

As the event progressed, Matsushita participated in a countdown to unveil the main hall’s artwork, showcasing Van Gogh's masterpieces. When the lights dimmed, the masterpiece of Sunflowers was projected onto the expansive walls and floors, enveloping the attendees in a stunning visual spectacle.

"I adore Van Gogh, and standing amidst the sunflower scene felt as if I was in a field of flowers myself. This setting beautifully illustrated Van Gogh's admiration for Japanese art and culture," she expressed joyfully.

Closing the event, Matsushita conveyed a heartfelt message about the significance of art, emphasizing its ability to enrich our lives and encouraging everyone to visit and immerse themselves in this unique experience.

Insightful Remarks from Culturespaces

At the event's outset, acknowledgments were made by representatives of TV Asahi, followed by Frédéric Penilla from the French Embassy, who articulated hopes for enhanced cultural exchange between France and Japan as essential to this new creative space. Luke Archambault, the project manager for Culturespaces, the company responsible for the RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES series, shared, “We are thrilled to open this venue in Japan, showing our deep respect for Japanese artistry and craftsmanship.”
