Exciting Collaboration for a Library Stamp Rally in Machida City Launches!

A Collaborative Initiative to Boost Reading in Machida City

Machida City, located just 30 minutes from Tokyo's bustling urban center, is making strides in enhancing community engagement and services through its partnership with FC Machida Zelvia. This collaboration is set to launch an innovative library stamp rally aimed at encouraging reading among residents while offering a unique interaction between sports and literature.

On December 12, 2025, the city signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with the club, paving the way for joint efforts to promote various reading activities at local libraries. The initiative, which kicks off with a stamp rally, invites residents to explore the rich literary resources available within their community.

Library Stamp Rally Overview

The library stamp rally is designed as an engaging way for residents to visit their local libraries and discover the joys of reading. Starting from March 1, 2026, residents can collect an original library calendar that features a unique stamp rally sheet titled “Machida Reading Mile.” This calendar will serve as a guide for participants, allowing them to track their reading journey throughout the year.

The stamp rally will run from April 1 to December 27, 2026, and will take place across seven participating Machida City libraries. Each visit to a library during this period will allow participants to earn one mile, leading to exciting rewards provided by FC Machida Zelvia after accumulating a certain number of miles.

Participating Locations

Participants can pick up the calendar and receive prizes at the following locations:
  • - Kinokuniya Bookstore, Odakyu Machida Store
  • - Kumido Bookstore, Honmachida Store
  • - Book First, Lumine Machida Store
  • - TSUTAYA, Machida Kiso Store

The collaboration emphasizes not only the importance of reading but also the sport, making it an exciting venture for both readers and soccer fans. The library will feature various promotional events, enhancing the overall experience:

1. In-House Announcements by Player Hayataro Hayashi (No. 26): Residents can enjoy five distinct announcements made by the FC Machida Zelvia player within the library’s premises.
2. Zelvia Wrapping Decorations: Libraries will sport vibrant decorations themed around the football club, creating a festive atmosphere.
3. Photo Exhibition: An exhibition showcasing images from spring training and the 2026 training camp will also be displayed, further enticing visitors to engage with the club’s activities.
