Hiroki Okabe Presents: A Concert Everyone Can Attend
The NPO ICT Rescuers, known for utilizing ICT to support communication for individuals with ALS and other serious illnesses, is hosting a unique concert titled "Hiroki Okabe Presents: A Concert for Everyone". This event is a tribute to Hiroki Okabe, who passed away on July 17, 2025, and aimed to fulfill his vision of a concert accessible to all without limitations.
The concert will feature the renowned cellist Kentaro Yoshii, who was treasured by Okabe. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view an exhibition of various items and photographs related to Okabe’s life.

Exhibition (17:00 - 19:00)
During the intermission between the two parts (from 17:00 to 19:00), a display of items and photographs significant to Okabe will be showcased, along with refreshments for attendees.
Performer: Kentaro Yoshii
Kentaro Yoshii is an acclaimed cellist and the former principal cellist of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. He made history as the first Asian member to join the orchestra at the young age of 18, and he served as the principal cellist for 33 of his 40 years there. After leaving the orchestra, Yoshii dedicated himself to solo performances across Europe and was honored with the title of Professor by the Austrian government. In 2014, he performed Bach's unaccompanied cello suites at the Ise Shrine Noh Stage to commemorate the Shikinen Sengu.
Item Showcase
Among the items displayed will be Okabe's wheelchair, famous for being used by one of the most socially active patients with ALS. Attendees will also see his iconic fedora hat, along with various photographs depicting different moments of his life.
