MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives is gearing up for an exciting summer with the event titled "Open the Mon, Unleash Curiosity! Summer 2026." This initiative is tailored for families looking for a fun-filled day, featuring a variety of unique programs and exhibitions aimed at stimulating curiosity and creativity. Among the highlights are the special exhibition "Whirl About: The Evolving Story of Humanity" and the revamped signature pavilion from the Osaka-Kansai Expo, offering an immersive and interactive experience for all visitors.
A Day Full of Experiences
Summer at MoN Takanawa promises more than just viewing exhibits. Families can engage in a range of activities across the museum, from workshops to traditional cultural experiences. The museum has an exciting stamp rally, workshops related to the "Whirl About" exhibition, and traditional cultural programs held in a spacious tatami room covering approximately 100 tatami mats. MoN Passport Summer Special Course: The Whirl About Mystery Stamp Rally
Embark on a stamp rally with UZU, the character born from the exhibition. Visitors will track down hidden stories within MoN Takanawa, collecting original stamps along the way. Those who collect all the stamps will receive an original sticker as a prize, with a chance to win additional unique stickers.

Weekend Whirl About Research Meetings
Every weekend in August features the "Weekend Whirl About Research Meetings" where workshops and child-friendly tours led by curators will be organized.

Terada Mokei Workshop: "Crafting the Scene of Yamanote Line" will engage participants in creating their own unique settings using small parts related to the Yamanote Line.

Family Discount Tickets
Starting July 17, general admission tickets for one adult and one or two students (junior high and high school) are available at discounted rates, allowing families to save more compared to individual ticket purchases.
In addition, the exhibition "Future of Life+" will reopen on July 25, 2026. This program, attracting attention at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, allows visitors to embark on a journey 50 years into the future alongside an android, facing the questions of "What is humanity?" and "What is life?"

Every month, MoN Takanawa's tatami room hosts programs that reflect Japan's seasonal themes and traditional culture, including workshops focused on local folklore and history during summer.
