Engaging the Community: The 2025 Disability Support Device Matching Event Goes Online!

Introduction to the 2025 Matching Event

The Techno-Aid Association, a public foundation dedicated to promoting research, development, and education in welfare equipment, has launched the 2025 Disability Support Device Needs and Seeds Matching Event. This event is designed to facilitate interaction between device creators and users.

The event will take place both online and in-person, with the web platform live from October 1, 2023, to January 31, 2024, allowing users to access information and resources at their convenience. Additionally, an in-person event will be held in Tokyo from December 18 to 20, 2023, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center.

Participation and Engagement

Over 85 exhibitors, including manufacturers and relevant organizations, are participating in the online event. Notably, 14 groups of people with disabilities and their supporters will be present alongside governmental and developmental support entities.

The web platform offers a rich set of features, including the ability to view various exhibitors and their product images and videos. Attendees can also directly communicate with exhibitors through an inquiry function, ensuring that even those unable to attend the Tokyo event can still engage meaningfully.

Collaborative Opportunities

This initiative encourages users to share their experiences and suggestions with developers, enhancing the potential for practical improvements in assistive technology. Feedback like “I wish my device had this feature” can directly influence product development, ensuring that the end users' needs are better met.

The platform promotes lively discussions about assistive devices and aims to better align the development process with user expectations. Consequently, both sides can benefit from this exchange, propelling the creation of more effective and user-friendly products.
