Clinton G. Johnson Launches BreakThrough At Work Coaching Program Tackle Talent Challenges

Addressing Invisibility in Corporate America

Clinton G. Johnson, a renowned National Geographic Explorer and antiracist geoarchitect, has recently launched a revolutionary initiative designed to combat the pervasive issue of systemic invisibility faced by Black, Latinx, and women professionals within corporate leadership pipelines. The new platform, titled BreakThrough At Work, combines an innovative eight-week coaching program with a mobile application aimed at promoting recognition, leadership readiness, and visibility for underrepresented professionals.

The Essence of BreakThrough At Work

At its core, BreakThrough At Work leverages Johnson's proprietary Undeniable Storytelling Method, a technique crafted to assist high-potential professionals in overcoming what are known as “Talent Blindspots.” These blindspots refer to entrenched structural and cultural biases that frequently result in organizations overlooking qualified candidates, regardless of their proven track record and measurable contributions. This dual approach not only focuses on enhancing individual careers but also aims to provide a more inclusive and equitable workplace environment.

to Combat Talent Blindspots

Workforce studies underscore the urgency of Johnson's mission. Research indicates that a staggering 70% of employees of color feel the need to work harder to be acknowledged as competent, while women of color represent less than 5% of senior roles, despite securing the majority of advanced degrees within their demographic groups. Moreover, leadership visibility gaps have a significant financial impact, costing U.S. businesses an estimated $398 billion annually in lost productivity.

In response to these challenges, traditional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives often emphasize compliance at the expense of genuine career advancement. BreakThrough At Work shifts this paradigm by transitioning from a model of liability to one of leverage. It empowers professionals to construct their personal brands while simultaneously equipping organizations with a clear roadmap to discover and unlock hidden talent.

Launch Timeline and Early Impact

The initiative kicked off with the mobile app launch in June 2025, followed by the commencement of the first full coaching cohort scheduled to start on September 22, 2025. Initial feedback from participants' experiences has been overwhelmingly positive, indicating increases in professional recognition, accelerated promotions, and a resurgence of confidence in their careers—achievements accomplished without compromising their authentic selves or succumbing to burnout.
